West Jessamine’s defense recovered five fumbles and intercepted four passes in a 34-14 victory over Tates Creek.  The Colts held Tates Creek’s high octane ground attack to 85 yards on 41 rushing attempts.  West Jessamine led 13-6 after three quarters but scored 21 points in the final period to ensure the victory and remain undefeated.

West Jessamine recorded 14 first downs and 255 yards of total offense.  The Colts were penalized 10 times for 55 yards and had one pass intercepted.  Tates Creek recorded 14 first downs and 276 yards of total offense.  The Commodores were penalized seven times for 41 yards, lost five fumbles, and had four passes intercepted.

Matt Carbol led West Jessamine’s ground game with 113 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries.  Romando Tatum carried the ball 14 times for 68 yards.  Marr Carbol completed seven of 17 passes for 49 yards and one TD with an interception.  Will Knight caught three passes for nine yards and a touchdown.  Blake Davis led the defense with six solo and four assisted tackles.  Aaron Shearer added three solo and five assisted tackles.  Shearer added a fumble recovery and intercepted a pass. 

Brandon Shrout led Tates Creek’s ground game with 57 yards on 13 carries.  Jontez Jones carried the ball 17 times for 51 yards and a touchdown.  Dee Christopher completed eight of 25 passes for 191 yards and a touchdown with four interceptions.Martrell Berry caught two passes for 37 yards and a touchdown.  Jontez Jones added two receptions for 33 yards.  Jon. Meadors led the defense with five solo and six assisted tackles.  Aaron Mullins added three solo and nine assisted tackles with 3.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totalling seven yards.

Jos Walls scored three touchdowns on the ground to lead Scott County to a 25-15 victory over Clark County.  Scott County scored 18 points in the second quarter to take a 25-7 lead at halftime.

Scott County recorded 18 first downs and 400 yards of total offense.  The Cardinals were penalized six times for 39 yards, lost two fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.  Clark County recorded 12 first downs and 315 yards of total offense.  The Cardinals were penalized nine times for 62 yards and lost one fumble.

Kevo Edwards led Scott County’s ground game with 146 yards on nine carries.  Josh Walls added 115 yards and three touchdowns on 17 carries.  Marcus Hill carried the ball 21 times for 89 yards.  Ben Lawler completed one of three passes for 30 yards and a TD with one interception.  James Happy caught one pass for 30 yards and a TD.  Josh Walls led the defense with five solo tackles.  Marcus Hill recorded four solo and one assisted tackle.

Pokey Harris led the Clark County ground game with 43 yards on 14 carries.  Andrew Dini completed 13 of 26 passes for 235 yards and two touchdowns.  Darius Skinner caught six passes for 120 yards and a TD.  Pokey Harris added four receptions for 93 yards and a touchdown.  Colin Reddix led the defense with four solo and five assisted tackles.  Ethan Curry added four solo and four assisted tackles.  Curry also intercepted a pass.

Lexington Catholic rolled up 443 yards on the ground in a 62-0 victory over Lexington Christian Academy.  LCA was shorthanded tonight with several key players missing the game due to either injuries or other reasons.  Lexington Catholic led 16-0 at halftime but the lack of numbers and turnovers took its toll on LCA in the third quarter and the Eagles were outscored 34-0 in the third quarter.

Lexington Catholic recorded 22 first downs and 572 yards of total offense.  The Knights were penalized 13 times for 113 yards.  LCA recorded seven first downs and 138 yards of total offense.  The Eagles were penalized twice for 10 yards, lost two fumbles, and had two passes intercepted.

James Maddox led Lexington Catholic’s ground game with 128 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries.  Kyle Bolin carried the ball eight times for 87 yards and a TD.  Kyle Bolin completed 15 of 25 passes for 129 yards and two touchdowns.  Adam Bush caught six passes for 56 yards and two touchdowns.  Alex Nash led the defense with five solo tackles.  Adam Wachs added four solo tackles.

Scout McCamy led LCA’s ground game with 36 yards on nine carries.  Scout McCamy completed 13 of 27 passes for 70 yards with two interceptions.  Clay Mossbarger caught five passes for 13 yards.  Chad Snyder led the defense with 10 solo and one assisted tackles.

Simon Kenton defeated Henry Clay by a score of 21-18.  Simon Kenton recorded 19 first downs and 341 yards of total offense.  The Pioneers were penalized six times for 45 yards and had two passes intercepted.  Henry Clay recorded 14 first downs and 264 yards of total offense.  The Blue Devils were penalized five times for 22 yards and lost two fumbles.

Chad Lawrence led Simon Kenton’s ground game with 154 yards on 25 carries.  Chad Lawrence completed 16 of 27 passes for 184 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions.  Ryan Winkler caught eight passes for 96 yards.  Cory Crane added three receptions for 23 yards and a TD.  Zach Carroll led the defense with six solo tackles.  Kenneth Lockard added five solo and two assisted tackles.  Austin Baldwin chipped in with four solo and one assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totalling 15 yards.  Baldwin also recovered a fumble.

Lafayette got big games from the Johnson brothers in a 21-9 victory over Clark County.  Bubba Johnson scored two touchdowns on the ground and Marlon Johnson returned a punt 76 yards for a TD.  Clark County took an early 9-0 lead and held a big margin in total yards (304-173) but were plagued with penalties (15 for 104 yards).  Clark County also had some costly dropped passes in tonight’s game.

Lafayette recorded nine first downs and 173 yards of total offense.  The Generals were penalized eight times for 55 yards and lost a fumble.  Clark County recorded 16 first downs and 304 yards of total offense.  The Cardinals were penalized 15 times for 104 yards.

Bubba Johnson led Lafayette’s ground game with 102 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries.  Marlon Johnson carried the ball six times for 64 yards.  Matt Britt completed five of 11 passes for 41 yards.  Zane Ramey caught one pass for 30 yards.  Justin Carr led the defense with three solo and 12 assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totalling 12 yards.  Jalen Wilkerson added five solo and one assisted tackles.

Tates Creek capitalized on three long scoring strikes by Jontez Jones to defeat Paul Dunbar 33-14 and remain undefeated.  Jones scored on a 45 yard pass from Dee Christopher, ran 80 yards for a TD, and added a third touchdown on a 40 yard interception return.

Tates Creek recorded 17 first downs and 447 yards of total offense.  The Commodores were penalized nine times for 91 yards and lost two fumbles.  Paul Dunbar recorded 16 first down and 258 yards of total offense.  The Bulldogs were penalized 10 times for 85 yards and had one pass intercepted.

Jontez Jones led a potent Tates Creek running game with 117 yards and a touchdown on seven carries.  Dee Christopher carried the ball eight times for 106 yards.  Brandon Shrout added 91 yards and a TD on 11 carries.  Dee Christopher completed 10 of 18 passes for 131 yards and a TD.  Jontez Jones caught three passes for 60 yards and a touchdown.  Aubrey Lewis led the defense with five solo and two assisted tackles.  Jon. Meadors also recorded five solo and two assisted tackles.

Paul Jones led Paul Dunbar’s ground game with 87 yards and a TD on 17 carries.  William Gary added 38 yards and a touchdown on 12 rushing attempts.  William Gary completed eight of 14 passes for 78 yards.  Jordan Gatewood caught four passes for 35 yards.  Jordan Gatewood led the defense with six solo and one assisted tackles.  Tucker Lyles and Emory Thompson each recorded two solo and three assisted tackles.

Lexington Catholic defeated Madison Central tonight by a score of 21-14.  Lexington Catholic held a 411-184 edge in total yards but was plagued by penalties as they were flagged 12 times for 106 yards.  QB Nick Ford started the game for Madison Central but left the game during the first series reportedly with a recurring ankle injury.  Lexington Catholic held an edge in plays run with a 72-42 advantage.

Lexington Catholic recorded 17 first downs and 411 yards of total offense with 292 yards on the ground and 144 yards through the air.  Madison Central recorded 10 first downs and 184 yards of total offense.  The Indians were penalized six times for 29 yards.

James Maddox led Lexington Catholic’s ground attack with 120 yards and a TD on 23 carries.  Amoh Kumengisa added 67 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries.  Kyle Bolin carried the ball eight times for 55 yards.  Kyle Bolin completed 15 of 26 passes for 144 yards.  Nate Letton caught four passes for 35 yards.  Adam Wachs led the defense with six solo and two assisted tackles.  Cory Messmer added five solo tackles.

Jamez Chenault led Madison Central’s ground game with 71 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries.  Justin Williams carried the ball twice for 24 yards.  Hunter Stocker completed six of 11 passes for 80 yards.  Justin Williams caught four passes for 78 yards.  Austin Coyle led the defense with eight solo and four assisted tackles.  Dre Goggins added six solo and two assisted tackles.

The score was tied 14-14 at halftime but Scott County outscored Oldham County 26-0 in the second half to earn a 40-14 victory.  Scott County recorded 16 first downs and 393 yards of total offense.  The Cardinals were penalized four times for 19 yards and lost two fumbles.  Oldham County recorded nine first downs and 158 yards of total offense.  They were penalized four times for 20 yards and had one pass intercepted.

Josh Walls led the Scott County ground attack with 104 yards and a touchdown on seven carries.  Marcus Hill carried the ball nine times for 70 yards.  Kevo Edwards added 40 yards and three touchdowns on eight carries.  Ben Lawler completed six of 11 passes for 150 yards and a TD.  Josh Walls caught four passes for 129 yards and a touchdown.  Blake Irvin led the Cardinal defense with five solo and five assisted tackles.  JT True added two solo and 10 assisted tackles.  Jordan Kindred chipped in with four solo and three assisted tackles.

Corbin Axtell led Oldham County’s  ground game with 48 yards on  seven carries.  Brett Leary added 40 yards and a TD on 15 carries.  Austin Johnson completed four of 17 passes for 24 yards with one interception.  Eric Mudd caught two passes for 14 yards.  Cody Oldham added two receptions for 10 yards.  Casey Sheehan led the defense with 10 solo tackles.  Jarrod Combs added four solo and one assisted tackles.
