DeSales rebounded from a season opening loss to St. Xavier to defeat Butler by a score of 37-8.  DeSales recorded 16 first downs and 286 yards of total offense.  The Colts were penalized nine times for 128 yards.  Butler recorded seven first downs and 149 yards of total offense.  The Bears were penalized eight times for 125 yards.

Demarcus Avery led DeSales’ ground game with 68 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries.  Antione Johnson carried the ball 10 times for 53 yards and a touchdown.  James Johnson recorded 48 yards on 10 carries.  Naytion Daniels carried the ball four times for 44 yards.  Demarcus Avery completed two of six passes for 42 yards and two touchdowns.  Antione Johnson caught two passes for 42 yards and two touchdowns.  Demetri Scott led the defense with four solo tackles which resulted in losses totaling 27 yards.  Derek Hollenkamp added three solo and one assisted tackles.  Zane Wilkerson recorded three solo tackles.  DeJuan Watkins added one solo and three assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling seven yards.

Malik Brooks led Butler’s ground game with 21 yards on eight carries.  Chaz Burks completed seven of 13 passes for 141 yards and a touchdown.  Jordan Watkins caught four passes for 68 yards.  Kenyon Goodin added two receptions for 60 yards and a touchdown.  Antwone Shaw caught one pass for 33 yards.  Hosea Knifeley led the defense with five solo and one assisted tackles.  Samuel Porter added five solo tackles.  KeJuan Gatewood recorded four solo tackles.

Belfry pulled away in the final quarter to defeat a determined Lexington Christian Academy by a score of 39-20.  Belfry recorded 16 first downs and 425 yards of total offense all on the ground.  The Pirates were penalized five times for 60 yards.  Lexington Christian Academy recorded 13 first downs and 288 yards of total offense.  The Eagles were penalized seven times for 55 yards

Isaac Dixon led Belfry’s ground game with 198 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries.  Peyton Hensley carried the ball 16 times for 138 yards and two touchdowns.  Ben Bentley added 87 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries.  Israel Canterbury attempted one pass that was incomplete.  Jonathan Stepp led the defense with seven solo and six assisted tackles.  Isaiah Birchfield added four solo and four assisted tackles.

Xavier Brown led Lexington Christian Academy with 71 yards and a touchdown on six carries.  Jayden Barnhardt completed 13 of 26 passes for 195 yards and two touchdowns with three interceptions.  Dearious Smith caught four passes for 136 yards and two touchdowns.  Xavier Brown added five receptions for 31 yards.  Will Vernon returned one punt for 17 yards.  Andrew Long led the defense with four solo and eight assisted tackles.  Jeffrey Selby added four solo and seven assisted tackles.  Mattie Lebryk recorded two solo and 11 assisted tackles.  Neal Dickey recorded two solo and 10 assisted tackles.

Lexington Catholic QB Beau Allen threw five touchdowns to lead the Knights to a 43-9 victory over TC Howe.  Lexington Catholic recorded 15 first downs and 326 yards of total offense.  The Knights were penalized six times for 68 yards and lost a fumble.  TC Howe recorded 12 first downs and 208 yards of total offense.  They were penalized nine times for 90 yards and lost a fumble.

Ryan Nichols led Lexington Catholic’s ground game with 40 yards and a touchdown on six carries.  Darin Eldridge carried the ball twice for 24 yards.  Beau Allen completed 14 of 17 passes for 242 yards and five touchdowns.  Jackson Corbett caught six passes for 115 yards and two touchdowns.  Ryan Nichols added three receptions for 42 yards and two touchdowns.  Jarrett Mullins added a 10 yard touchdown reception.  Dylan Bracken returned one kickoff for 32 yards.  Pearce Hall led the defense with three solo and two assisted tackles.  M. Eldridge also recorded three solo and two assisted tackles.  Sean Gallagher added two solo and one assisted tackles and recovered a fumble.  Jackson Smith added one solo and one assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 13 yards.

Treyvon Quarles led TC Howe’s ground attack with 35 yards on 10 carries.  Dysemin Willis carried the ball twice for 25 yards.  Tazz Garrett completed 10 of 17 passes for 114 yards and one touchdown.  Curtis Chapman caught two passes for 24 yards.  DeAndre Walker caught one pass for 27 yards.  Jordan Murphy added a 17 yard touchdown reception.  Davion Troutman returned two kickoffs for 53 yards with a long return of 29 yards.  Tazz Garrett added two kickoff returns for 42 yards with a long return of 25 yards.  Domonique Wright led the defense with four solo and one assisted tackles.  Davion Troutman added three solo tackles.  #15 recorded two solo and one assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 12 yards.

St. Xavier dominated action tonight in a 48-7 victory over Henry Clay.  St. Xavier’s suffocating defense held Henry Clay to a net 60 yards on 48 plays.  St. Xavier recorded 21 first downs and 320 yards of total offense.  The Tigers were penalized three times for 90 yards, lost two fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.  Henry Clay recorded seven first downs and 60 yards of total offense.  The Blue Devils were penalized seven times for 137 yards had four passes intercepted.

Logan Davis led the St. Xavier ground attack with 128 yards and three touchdowns on 16 carries.  Justin Walsh carried the ball 11 times for 40 yards and a touchdown.  Mekhi Smith added 23 yards on two carries.  Douglas Bodhaine completed eight of 12 passes for 185 yards and two touchdowns.  Bennett Boehlein completed two of five passes for 36 yards and a touchdown.  Mekhi Smith caught four passes for 67 yards.  Grant Goodman added two receptions for 23 yards and a touchdown.  Justin Walsh caught one pass for 80 yards and a touchdown.  Luke Spears caught a 17 yard touchdown pass.  Cole Woodard led the defense with three solo and one assisted tackles.  Braden Wilson added three solo tackles and intercepted a pass he returned 15 yards.  Zane Peckenpaugh also recorded three solo tackles and intercepted a pass.  Dylan Pike added two solo tackles with his tackles resulting in losses totaling 46 yards.  Parker Guillaume and Mark Schrenger each intercepted a pass with return yardage of 13 and 12 points respectively.

Preston Stacy led Henry Clay’s ground game with 17 yards on three carries.  Jordan Kimball carried the ball twice for 14 yards.  D.J. VanHorn completed eight of 19 passes for 68 yards with four interceptions.  Ashton Foos caught three passes for 45 yards.  William Webb led the defense with five solo and three assisted tackles.  Jordan Kimball added five solo and two assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling eight yards and recovered a fumble.  Chris Dabney recorded four solo and two assisted tackles, recovered a fumble, and scored on a 32 yard interception return.  Travis Haskins added three solo and three assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a three yard loss.  Christian Ponce recorded two solo tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a 69 yard loss.

Bryan Station won their first game of the season with a 27-0 shutout victory over West Jessamine.  Bryan Station recorded 17 first downs and 300 yards of total offense.  The Defenders were penalized nine times for 67 yards and had two passes intercepted.  West Jessamine recorded 14 first downs and 175 yards of total offense.  The Colts were penalized seven times for 113 yards and lost two fumbles.

Dadrien Taylor led the Bryan Station ground attack with 84 yards on 10 carries.  Amodeus Taylor carried the ball 10 times for 75 yards and two touchdowns.  Promesse Kengu. added 56 yards on 10 carries.  Jacob Jackson carried the ball once for 29 yards and a touchdown.  Dadrien Taylor completed two of four passes for 60 yards and a touchdown with one interception.  Amodeus Taylor caught one pass for 42 yards and a touchdown.  Amodeus Taylor returned one punt for 26 yards.  Amodeus Taylor led the defense with five solo and four assisted tackles.  Joshua Rowe added two solo and eight assisted tackles.  Rachid Doumbia recorded two solo and seven assisted tackles.  Giovanni Watson chipped in with two solo and three assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 11 yards.  Quayveon Perkins recovered a fumble.

Haden Rowland led West Jessamine’s ground attack with 50 yards on 18 carries.  Bryson Scott carried the ball 10 times for 43 yards.  Haden Rowland completed six of 13 passes for 54 yards.  Kane Lathery caught three passes for 30 yards.  Kane Lathery returned one kickoff for 26 yards.  Jackson Green added four kickoff returns for 51 yards with a long return of 17 yards.  Caden Dowlen led the defense with four solo and seven assisted tackles.  Willy Milfort added four solo tackles.  Hunter Chastain recorded one solo and two assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a 28 yard loss.  Ian Fain intercepted a pass.

Isiah Roedig led Covington Catholic’s ground game with 78 yards and a touchdown on one carry.  Michael Boydston carried the ball six times for 43 yards and a touchdown.  Owen Nally added 33 yards on two carries.  Michael Mayer carried the ball once for 29 yards and a touchdown.  Caleb Jacob completed nine of 12 passes for 131 yards and four touchdowns.  Ethan Reardon caught three passes for 34 yards and a touchdown.  Michael Mayer added two receptions for 28 yards and two touchdowns.  Andy Molique caught a 24 yard touchdown pass.  Wyatt Schwartz, Dennis Lenihan, and Isiah Roedig returned on punt each for 17, 15, and 12 yards respectively.  Trey Gronette kicked off seven times for a 58.6 average and four touchbacks.  Trevor Wilson led the defense with four solo tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 16 yards.  Jadon Stava added three solo tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling eight yards.  Brayden Collins recorded three solo tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 12 yards.  Michael Mayer added two solo tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a four yard loss.  Sam France intercepted a pass he returned for 24 yards.

Crosley Gray led Campbell County’s ground game with seven yards on seven carries.  Justin Little completed one of eight passes for 11 yards with one interception.  Evan Barnes caught one pass for 11 yards.  Preston Agee returned four kickoffs for 83 yards with a long return of 26 yards.  Casey Rauch led the defense with six solo tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling five yards.  Blake Wasser added five solo tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a two yard loss.  Brayden Lewis recorded four solo and one assisted tackles.

Scott County defeated Lafayette tonight by a score of 28-19 in a game that featured a total of 22 penalties called for a total yardage of 214 yards in a hard fought battle.  Scott County recorded 19 first downs and 338 yards of total offense.  The Cardinals were penalized 14 times for 113 yards and lost a fumble.  Lafayette recorded 18 first downs and 337 yards of total offense.  The Generals were penalized eight times for 101 yards and had a pass intercepted.

Phillip Garner led Scott County’s ground game with 168 yards and two touchdowns on 32 carries.  Bronson Brown carried the ball 11 times for 70 yards and a touchdown.  Jeremy Hamilton added 30 yards on six carries.  Cade McKee completed two of five passes for 43 yards.  Jeremy Hamilton caught two passes for 43 yards.  Sam Daniel led the defense with seven solo and three assisted tackles and intercepted a pass he returned 44 yards for a touchdown.  Rylan Reed added five solo and one assisted tackles.  Alex Patton recorded three solo and two assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a seven yard loss.

JaeWON Kendrick led Lafayette’s ground game with 77 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries.  Tanner Pace completed 10 of 23 passes for 235 yards and a touchdown with one interception.  Austin Anderson caught three passes for 71 yards.  JC Shegog added three receptions for 29 yards.  Oumar Toure recorded two receptions for 81 yards and a touchdown.  Noah Curtsinger caught one pass for 48 yards.

Boone County utilized their ground-and-pound offense to neutralize Dunbar’s big play offense in a 34-28 victory.  The game was not as close as the score indicates as Boone County held a 34-13 lead with two minutes left in the game.  However, Dunbar scored 15 points in the last 1:44 to narrow the margin.  Boone County held a 32:00 to 16:00 advantage in time of possession.  Boone County recorded 22 first downs and 423 yards of total offense.  The Rebels were penalized eight times for 45 yards and lost a fumble.  Paul Laurence Dunbar recorded 12 first downs and 270 yards of total offense.  The Bulldogs were penalized eight times for 81 yards, lost a fumble, and had two passes intercepted.

Evan Curee led the Boone County ground game with 177 yards and three touchdowns on 34 carries.  Eli Ross carried the ball 13 times for 146 yards and two touchdowns.  Kaden Craft completed three of three passes for 48 yards.  Seth Grigson caught three passes for 42 yards.  Evan Curee led the defense with four solo and four assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 11 yards.  Dave Bodenbender added five solo and one assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 11 yards.  Adam Hicks recorded four solo and one assisted tackles and intercepted a pass.  Seth Grigson added three solo tackles and intercepted a pass.  Caleb Yaegel recovered a fumble.

Jacob Greene led Dunbar’s ground attack with 11 yards on eight carries.  Jake Smith completed 19 of 32 passes for 300 yards and three touchdowns with two interceptions.  Jamarcus Robinson caught nine passes for 194 yards and two touchdowns.  Tyler Johnson added four receptions for 29 yards.  Frank Illunga caught two passes for 22 yards and a touchdown.  Jamarcus Robinson returned two kickoffs for 110 yards including an 81 yard touchdown return.  Howard Jackson punted twice for a 48.5 average with a long return of 53 yards.  Connor Smith led the defense with 10 solo and three assisted tackles.  Josiah Brown added seven solo and two assisted tackles.  Shyhiem Drew recorded six solo and two assisted tackles.  Sy Turner recovered a fumble.

Anderson  County raced out to a 14-0 lead with 8:52 left in the first quarter but had to withstand a furious Madison Central rally to earn a 23-21 victory.  Anderson County improves to 2-0 behind the heroics of Zach Labhart who starred on both sides of the ball tonight.  Anderson County recorded 12 first downs and 206 yards of total offense.  The Bearcats were penalized 15 times for 118 yards and lost a fumble.  Madison Central recorded 15 first downs and 208 yards of total offense.  The Indians were penalized seven times for 57 yards, lost a fumble, and intercepted a pass.

Zach Labhart led Anderson County’s ground game with 131 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries.  Kynan Russell carried the ball 15 times for 64 yards.  Jagger Gillis completed four of nine passes for 34 yards.  Jackson Snyder caught one pass for 14 yards.  Zach Labhart returned three kickoffs for 101 yards with a touchdown return of 87 yards.  Jackson Snyder led the defense with seven solo and two assisted tackles.  Zach Labhart added six solo and two assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling two yards.  Chase Fink recorded six solo tackles.  Darien Dearinger added two solo and four assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 11 yards.  Kynan Russell intercepted a pass.

Joe Burton led Madison Central’s ground game with 57 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries.  Canon Scenters completed 11 of 27 passes for 154 yards and a touchdown with one interception.  Zach Holbrook caught four passes for 55 yards.  Ashton Hulberg added two receptions for 68 yards.  John Landsaw recorded two receptions for 17 yards and a touchdown.  Zach Holbrook returned two kickoffs for 29 yards with a long return of 15 yards.  Patrick Moren kicked field goals of 34 and 40 yards, kicked one extra point, and kicked off six times for a 53.7 average and two touchbacks.  Trey Parks led the defense with five solo and four assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 11 yards.  Deashon Gowdey added four solo and three assisted tackles.  Kris Olinger recorded three solo and four assisted tackles and recovered a fumble.  Edgren Sweat added four solo and two assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 16 yards.  Sweat also scored on a two point conversion run.

Eastern Kentucky University’s ground game and defense propelled the Colonels to a dominating 53-7 performance over Valparaiso.  EKU raced out to a 15-0 lead at the 12:17 mark of the first quarter and was never threatened.  EKU amassed 333 yards and five touchdowns on 39 carries (8.5 yards per carry) and the defense held the Crusaders to 68 yards and 45 carries (1.5 yards per carry).  Eastern Kentucky University recorded 19 first downs and 442 yards of total offense.  The Colonels were penalized six times for 65 yards and had two passes intercepted.  Valparaiso recorded 11 first downs and 184 yards of total offense.  The Crusaders were penalized four times for 32 yards and lost two fumbles.
