Eastern Kentucky University improves their record to 5-0 with a 31-0 victory over Austin Peay who falls to 0-5 for the year.  Eastern Kentucky was coming off an open week and the offense got off to a slow start.  Their first touchdown came after Brandon Stanley returned an interception 13 yards to the Austin Peay 15 yard line.  Channing Fugate scored on an 11 yard run and EKU took a 10-0 lead with 13 seconds left in the first quarter.  Eastern Kentucky scored on the last play of the first half as Bennie Coney launched a Hail Mary pass from 42 yards out that Jeff Glover managed to get over two Austin Peay defenders to snare for a 17-0 halftime lead.  Eastern Kentucky broke open the game early in the third quarter as Deno Montgomery took the opening kickoff and raced 66 yards to the Austin Peay 11 yard line.  Jared McClain then scored on a one yard run to make the score 24-0.  EKU tacked on another score to make the score 31-0 and the defense did the rest.  Austin Peay only threatened once early in the fourth quarter but was stopped by the Colonels’ defense on a fourth-and-goal from the one yard line.

Eastern Kentucky recorded 20 first downs and 354 yards of total offense.  The Colonels were penalized 10 times for 67 yards.  Austin Peay recorded 11 first downs and 190 yards of total offense.  The Governors were penalized nine times for 81 yards and had two passes intercepted.
