Highlands vs. Cooper

Highlands utilized a physical and balance offense and a stingy aggressive defense to defeat Cooper by the score of 28-14. Highlands recorded 26 first downs and 380 yards of total offense. The Bluebirds were penalized six times for 61 yards and lost one fumble. Cooper recorded 10 first downs and 199 yards of total offense. The Jaguars were penalized four times for 25 yards. Lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.

Tayden Lorenzen led Highland’s ground game with 90 yards and three touchdowns on 19 carries. Gabe Williams carried the ball 12 times for 33 yards. Aidan Duncan recorded 33 yards on eight carries. Rio Litmer recorded 29 yards on seven carries. Rio Litmer completed 17 of 25 passes for 180 yards and one touchdown. Tayden Lorenzen completed his only pass for six yards. John Feldbrugge caught three passes for 81 yards and a touchdown. Gabe Williams added four receptions for 33 yards. Cale Harris recorded 28 yards on four carries. Ian Garrahan chipped in with two receptions for 18 yards. Ryan Dunn led the defense with one solo and five assisted tackles. Max Merz added three solo and one assisted tackles. Isaac Nieman and Cooper Benke each recorded two solo and one assisted tackles. Colt Kremer chipped in with two solo tackles. Gabe Williams recovered a fumble and Brady Carnohon intercepted a pass he returned 16 yards.

Keagan Maher led Cooper’s ground game with 133 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries. Cam O’Hara completed four of 15 passes for 66 yards and one touchdown with one interception. Ryker Campbell caught three passes for 60 yards and one touchdown. Talon Calhoun added one reception for six yards. Dax Bolen led the defense with 11 solo and four assisted tackles. Max Wethington added nine solo and five assisted tackles. Jaymauri Duncan recorded nine solo and three assisted tackles. Ryker Campbell and Cotton Graham each recorded nine solo and one assisted tackles.
