Adair County (Region 5) vs. Bowling Green (Region 4)

Adair County coach Deron Breeze started the following lineup: 6-6 Sr. Brayton Coomer, 6-2 Jr. Dawson Gilbert, 6-7 Sr. Isaiah Cochran, 6-0 Sr. Connor Loy, and 6-1 Sr. Lane Grant. Bowling Green coach DG Sherrill countered with 6-0 Sr. Braylon Banks, 6-0 Sr. Luke Idlett, 6-2 Sr. Joseph Hurt, 5-10 Sr. Kadyn Carpenter, and 6-0 Sr. Deuce Bailey.

Deuce Bailey hit a driving layup with nine seconds left in overtime to give Bowling Green a 52-51 victory over Adair County for the victroy. Adair County had a last chance opportunity but the shot would not fall. Bowling Green had a 10 point lead early in the final quarter but Adair County rallied to tie the score 46-46 and had a late shot to win it in regulation but the shot failed to connect. There were six ties and 10 lead changes in this game. Bowling Green shot 45.7% from the field including three of 15 from the three point line. The Purples connected on seven of eight free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 10 Adair County turnovers. Adair County shot 41.5% from the field including two of 12 from beyond the arc. The Indians connected on five of eight free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 12 points off eight Bowling Green turnovers.

Braylon Banks led Bowling Green with 16 points including four of four free throws and four assists. Kadyn Carpenter added 13 points, three rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Deuce Bailey recorded eight points, five rebounds, and two blocked shots. 6-0 Sr. Jace Wardlow chipped in with seven points and five rebounds. Luke Idlett added six points, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

Connor Loy led Adair County with 14 points including four of seven free throws, nine rebounds, eight assists, and two steals. Isaiah Cochron added 14 points, eight rebounds, and two blocked shots. Brayton Coomer recorded 13 points and eight rebounds.

St. Xavier coach Kevin Klein started the following lineup: 6-3 Sr. Will Hanke, 6-2 Jr. Jeremiah Jackson, 6-7 Sr. Graham Krezmien, 5-9 Jr. Jermaine Cameron, and 5-9 Sr. Chance Dillingham. Jeffersontown coach Richard Duncan countered with 6-2 Sr. Prince Kahnplaye, 6-1 So. Larron Westmoreland, 6-5 Sr, Camron McDaniels, 5-10 Jr. Dayvonne Harrison, and 6-1 Jr. Damere Clark.

Jeffersontown outscored St. Xavier 25-15 in the final quarter to upset St. Xavier by the score of 64-59. Camron McDaniels had been cold from the floor but he heated up scoring the last eight points for Jeffersontown in the last 1:06 to give the Chargers the come-from-behind victory. There were six ties and nine lead changes in this game. Jeffersontown shot 36.7% from the field including eight of 22 from the three point line, connected on 12 of 17 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 12 St. Xavier turnovers. St. Xavier shot 45.3% from the field including seven of 23 from beyond the arc. The Tigers connected on four of 10 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored nine points off six Jeffersontown turnovers.

Prince Kahnplaye led Jeffersontown with 17 points including three three point baskets, 10 rebounds, and two steals. Dayvonne Harrison added 17 points including three three point baskets, four of four free throws, two rebounds, and two assists. Camron McDaniwls recorded 17 points including two three point baskets, five of eight free throws, and nine rebounds. Larron Westmoreland chipped in with nine points, seven rebounds, and three steals.

Jeremiah Jackson led St. Xavier with 11 points, five rebounds, two assists, and two blocked shots. Jermaine Cameron added 11 points including three three point baskets, and four rebounds. South Oldham outscored Danville Christian Academy 26-7 in the second quarter on their way to a 67-44 victory. South Oldham shot 51% from the field including 14 of 33 from the three point line. The Dragons connected on one of two free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 28 points off 22 Danville Christian Academy turnovers. Danville Christian Academy shot 40.9% from the field including two of 10 from beyond the arc. The Warriors connected on six of nine free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 16 South Oldham turnovers.

Jake Fithian led South Oldham with 17 points including five three point baskets, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Julian Miles added 14 points including two three point baskets, three rebounds, 10 assists, and three steals. 6-3 Jr. Kolton Wuchterl recorded 13 points including three three point baskets and two rebounds. 6-1 Jr. Drew Campbell chipped in with eight points including two three point baskets.

Ashland Blazer led Calloway County 49-46 after three quarters and shot a sizzling 92.3% (12-13) from the field in the final quarter to pull away for an 81-64 victory. Ashland Blazer shot 62.7% from the field including 11 of 23 from the three point line. The Tomcats connected on six of 10 free throws, pulled down 19 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 10 Calloway County turnovers. Calloway County shot 48.8% from the field including seven of 22 from beyond the arc. The Lakers connected on 15 of 21 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored ight points off five Ashland Blazer turnovers.

Zander Carter led Ashland Blazer with 29 points including four of six free throws, eight rebounds, eight assists, and two steals. Drew Smith added 16 points including four three point baskets and three assists. Preston Hoskins recorded 13 points including four three point baskets and two rebounds. Caleb Clarke chipped in with nine points, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Tyson LaLonde added eight points, two assists, and three steals.

Reece Davidson hit two free throws with 4.6 seconds remaining in the game and stole the ensuing in bounds pass to give North Laurel a 54-53 victrory over Breathitt County. There were 17 lead changes and eight ties in this game. North Laurel shot 46.5% from the field including six of 14 from the three point line. The Jaguars connected on eight of 14 free throws, pulled down 19 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 12 Breathitt County turnovers. Henderson County shot 41.9% from the field including zero of seven from beyond the arc. Bowling Green rallied from nine points down in the third quarter to defeat Ashland Blazer 80-74 in overtime. Deuce Bailey scored a layup with 15 seconds left in regulation to tie the score at 67-67 and force overtime. There were three lead changes and four ties in this game. Bowling Green shot 56.3% from the field including three of five from the three point line. The Purples connected on 23 of 32 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 14 Ashland Blazer turnovers. Ashland Blazer shot 48.1% from the field including 10 of 27 from beyond the arc. The Tomcats connected on 12 of 18 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored eight points off eight Bowling Green turnovers.

South Oldham defeated Jeffersontown by the score of 76-75. South Oldham trailed 56-51 after three quarters but outscored the Chargers 25-19 in the final quarter. There were 14 lead changes and three ties in this game. South Oldham shot 46.8% from the field including 15 of 38 from the three point line. The Dragons connected on three of nine free throws, pulled down 21 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 19 Jeffersontown turnovers. Jeffersontown shot 49.1% from the field including eight of 24 from beyond the arc. The Chargers connected on 11 of 16 free throws, pulled down 44 rebounds, and scored nine points off nine South Oldham turnovers.


6-3 Jr. Kolton Wuchterl led South Oldham with 34 points including 10 three point baskets (A KHSAA state tournament record), two rebounds, two assists and two steals. Wuchterl was 12 of 15 from the field including 10 of 13 from beyond the arc. Jake Fithian added 15 points including two three point baskets, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Julian Miles recorded 11 points, 12 assists, and six steals. Brooks Bee chipped in with eight points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, and four assists.

Cayden Reed hit two free throws and recorded a key steal in the closing seconds to ensure a 69-66 Montgomery County victory over North Laurel. There were 13 lead changes and three steals in this game. Montgomery County shot 42.9% from the field including 10 of 25 from the three point line. The Indians connected on 11 of 13 free throws, pulled down 20 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 19 North Laurel turnovers. North Laurel shot 60.9% from the field including four of 11 from beyond the arc. The Jaguars connected on six of 12 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 14 points off nine Montgomery County turnovers.

Cayden Reed led Montgomery County with 29 points including three three point baskets, eight of eight free throws, four rebounds, six assists, and five steals. Luke Fawns added 17 points including five three point baskets and four rebounds. Great Crossing defeated Cooper by the score of 49-36. Great Crossing shot 40.9% from the field including one of 10 from the three point line. The Warhawks connected on 12 of 19 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored seven points off six Cooper turnovers. Cooper shot 29.2% from the field including five of 18 from beyond the arc. The Jaguars connected on three of five free throws, pulled down 21 rebounds, and scored seven points off nine Great Crossing turnovers.

Vince Dawson III led Great Crossing with 20 points including six of nine free throws, 11 rebounds, and four assists. Malachi Moreno added 13 points, 16 rebounds, and seven blocked shots. Gage Richardson recorded six points, three rebounds, and three assists.

Isaac Brown led Cooper with 14 points including two three point baskets and three assists. Andy Johnson added 12 points including two three point baskets and six rebounds.

Bowling Green coach DG Sherrill countered with 6-0 Sr. Braylon Banks, 6-0 Sr. Luke Idlett, 6-2 Sr. Joseph Hurt, 5-10 Sr. Kadyn Carpenter, and 6-0 Sr. Deuce Bailey.


Bowling Green defeated South Oldham by the score of 73-51. Bowling Green shot 60% from the field including eight of 14 from the three point line. The Purples connected on 11 of 15 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 12 South Oldham turnovers. South Oldham shot 35% from the field including eight of 35 from beyond the arc. The Dragons connected on one of five free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 12 Bowling Green turnovers.


Joe Hurt led Bowling Green with 26 points including five of five free throws, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Braylon Banks added 11 points, six rebounds, and seven assists. Luke Idlett recorded 12 points on four three point baskets. Kadyn Carpenter chipped in with seven points, seven rebounds, and three assists. Deuce Bailey recorded seven points, three rebounds, and two assists. 6-0 Sr. Jace Wardlow added seven points, seven rebounds, and four assists.

Great Crossing pulled away in the second half to defeat Montgomery County by the score of 70-49. There were nine lead changes and four ties in this game. Great Crossing shot 65.1% from the field including two of six from the three point line. The Warhawks connected on 12 of 16 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 11 points off seven Montgomery County turnovers. Montgomery County shot 34% from the field including 10 of 32 from beyond the arc. The Indians connected on three of three free throws, pulled down 19 rebounds, and scored 13 points off nine Great Crossing turnovers.

Malachi Moreno led Great Crossing with 26 points including six of six free throws, 14 rebounds, four assists, and two blocked shots. Vince Dawson III added 16 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. Brady Orem recorded 14 points on five of five from the field and four of five free throws, and five rebounds. 6-2 Jr. Trevanti Cooper chipped in with 10 points on four of four from the field including two of two from beyond the arc.

Cayden Reed led Montgomery County with 15 points including three three point baskets, six rebounds, seven assists, and two steals. Luke Fawns added 10 points including two three point baskets. Dawson Gentry recorded 10 points including two three point baskets. Tyce Jarvis chipped in with eight points including three of three free throws and three rebounds. Andrew Terry recorded six points on two three point baskets, four rebounds, and three steals.

The Warhawks connected on 12 of 16 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored two points off four Bowling Green turnovers. Bowling Green shot 42% from the field including five of 18 from beyond the arc. The Purples connected on 14 of 18 free throws, pulled down 19 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 10 Great Crossing turnovers.

Malachi Moreno led Great Crossing with 24 points on 10 of 11 from the field and four of seven free throws, 15 rebounds, two assists, and three blocked shots. Vince Dawson III added 18 points including two three point baskets, five rebounds, and three assists. Gage Richardson recorded 15 points, six rebounds, and three assists. Brady Orem chipped in with eight points, three rebounds, and two assists.

Kadyn Carpenter led Bowling Green with 19 points including three three point baskets, three rebounds,and two assists. 6-0 Sr. Jace Wardlow added 13 points including two three point baskets, three of four free throws, and five rebounds.
