Lexington Christian Academy coach Ted Hall started the following lineup: 6-3 Sr. Walker Owens, 5-2 Sr. Andrew Maggard, 6-5 Sr. Colt Cummins, 6-0 Sr. Woods Frye, and 6-0 Sr. Saxton Howard. Madison Southern coach Steve Wright countered with 6-2 Sr. Mason Davis, 6-1 Sr. Braxton Arnett, 6-4 So. Jordan Dunaway, 5-8 Sr. Casen Nobbe, and 5-9 Sr. Micah Whitaker.
Lexington Christian Academy pulled away in the second half to defeat Madison Southern by the score of 86-72. There were six lead changes and four ties in this game. Madison Southern was hampered tonight by the loss of star guard Casen Nobbe who went down with a knee injury in the first quarter and was unable to return to action. LCA shot 48.3% from the field including nine of 26 from the three point line. The Eagles connected on 21 of 25 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 13 Madison Southern turnovers. Madison Southern shot 40.3% from the field including 12 of 35 from beyond the arc. The Eagles connected on 10 of 13 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored six points off six LCA turnovers.
Saxton Howard led Lexington Christian Academy with 29 points including eight of 10 free throws, five rebounds, six assists, and two steals. Andrew Maggard added 25 points including four three point baskets, five of seven free throws, two rebounds, four assists, and four steals. Colt Cummins recorded 11 points, eight rebounds, two assists, and two steals. 6-0 8th Grade Chase Bentley chipped in with 10 points including two three point baskets, and three rebounds. 6-1 Fr. Caleb Marshall added nine points including six of six free throws, four rebounds, and two steals. Walker Owens pulled down nine rebounds.
Micah Whitaker led Madison Southern with 17 points including five three point baskets, three rebounds, and two assists. Jordan Dunaway added 15 points, seven rebounds, and three assists. 5-10 Fr. Tucker Nobbe recorded 13 points including two three point baskets, six rebounds, five assists, and two steals. 6-2 Fr. Derek Helton chipped in with 10 points including two three point baskets, eight rebounds, and three assists.
