South Laurel coach Jeff Davis started the following lineup: 6-5 Sr. Jordan Mabe, 6-1 Sr. Max Fullmer, 6-5 Jr. Kaiden McQueen, 5-5 Jr. Garrison Brown, and 5-11 Sr. Colton Rawlings. Great Crossing coach Steve Page countered with 6-5 Sr. Vince Dawson III, 6-5 Sr. Gage Richardson, 7-1 Sr. Malachi Moreno, 5-10 Sr. Jamari Mason, and 6-1 So. LJ Holman.
Great Crossing trailed 56-47 in the final quarter but finished the game on a 14-2 run to earn a 61-58 victory over South Laurel. There were 10 lead changes and five ties in this game. Great Crossing shot 50% from the field including two of 17 from the three point line. The Warhawks connected on nine of 12 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 13 points off nine South Laurel turnovers. South Laurel shot 54.8% from the field including nine of 17 from beyond the arc. The Cardinals connected on three of five free throws, pulled down 18 rebounds, and scored eight points off seven Great Crossing turnovers.
Vince Dawson III led Great Crossing with 20 points and eight rebounds. Malachi Moreno added 16 points on seven of seven from the field, two of two free throws, 10 rebounds, four assists, four blocked shots, and two steals. LJ Holman recorded 10 points, two rebounds, and five assists. Gage Richardson chipped in with seven points and three assists.
Jordan Mabe led South Laurel with 23 points including two three point baskets, and two blocked shots. Colton Rawlings added 15 points including three three point baskets, eight rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Kaiden McQueen recorded six points, three rebounds, and two assists. 5-10 Jr. Landon Howard chipped in with six points including two three point baskets.
