Sacred Heart Academy coach Donna Moir started the following lineup: 6-0 Sr. Za’Kiyah Johnson, 5-10 Jr. Brianna Wilkins, 6-0 Sr. Morgan Frey, 5-5 So. Amirah “Tootie” Jordan, and 5-8 Sr. Caroline Osting. George Rogers Clark coach Robbie Graham countered with 5-8 Jr. Teigh Yeast, 5-7 Sr. Jaileen Green, 6-2 Sr. Ciara Byars, 5-5 So. Kennedy Stamper, and 5-6 Fr. Kyleigh Chestnut.

George Rogers Clark raced out to a 16-4 first quarter lead but Sacred Heart rallied to pull away in the second half for an 80-68 victory over the Lady Cardinals. There were three lead changes and three ties in this game. Sacred Heart shot 47.5% from the field including seven of 14 from the three point line. The Valkyries connected on 15 of 19 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 15 GRC turnovers. GRC shot 42.1% from the field including seven of 20 from beyond the arc. The Lady Cardinals connected on 13 of 17 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 11 Sacred Heart turnovers.

Tootie” Jordan led Sacred Heart with 28 points including 11 of 11 free throws, four rebounds, seven assists, and five steals. Za’Kiyah Johnson added 26 points including four three point baskets, nine rebounds, three assists, and two blocked shots. Morgan Frey recorded 11 points, eight rebounds, two assists, and two blocked shots.

Kennedy Stamper led George Rogers Clark with 16 points including two three point baskets, eight rebounds, and two assists. Ciara Byars added 14 points, nine rebounds, and two assists. Kyleigh Chestnut recorded 13 points including three three point baskets, and three rebounds. Jaileen Green chipped in with 13 points including four of four free throws, and three rebounds. Teigh Yeast recorded eight points, six rebounds, five assists, and two steals.
