Frederick Douglass coach Daryl Moberly started the following lineup: 5-8 8th Grade Tamia Waide, 5-8 Jr. Reagan Gregonis, 6-0 So. Jaelee Knowles, 5-6 Sr. Kate Baker, and 5-6 Jr. Mikalee Bennett. Madison Central coach Scott True countered with 5-7 So. Brooke Campbell, 5-5 Jr. Jordynn Miles, 5-9 Sr. Cameryn Ridderikhoff, 5-7 Sr. Brittany Campbell, and 5-6 Sr. Nataya Strader.

Frederick Douglass pulled away in the closing minutes to defeat Madison Central by the score of 64-58. The score was tied 50-50 after three quarters. There were eight ties and 10 lead changes in the game. Free throw shooting and offensive boards were Madison Central’s “Achilles Heel” tonight as they were only 13 of 25 from the free throw line and had a deficit of 14-3 on the offensive rebounds. Frederick Douglass shot 44.6% from the field including three of 12 from the three point line. The Lady Broncos connected on 11 of 19 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 14 Madison Central turnovers. Madison Central shot 52.5% from the field including three of eight from beyond the arc. The Lady Indians connected on 13 of 25 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 11 Frederick Douglass turnovers.

Jaelee Knowles led Frederick Douglass with 27 points including seven of 10 free throws, 14 rebounds, two blocked shots, and three steals. Tamia Waide added 14 points, two rebounds, and two assists. Mikalee Bennett recorded seven points, seven rebounds, and five assists. Kate Baker chipped in with six points on two three point baskets.

Nataya Strader led Madison Central with 21 points, three rebounds, five assists, and three steals. Brittany Campbell added 15 points including two three point baskets, six rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Cameryn Ridderikhoff recorded 11 points and five rebounds. Jordynn Miles chipped in with eight points and four rebounds.
