Frederick Douglass earned a 35-14 victory over a good Corbin team at home tonight. Frederick Douglass recorded 22 first downs and 403 yards of total offense. The Broncos were penalized five times for 41 yards and had a pass intercepted. Corbin recorded 11 first downs and 222 yards of total offense. The Redhounds were penalized five times for 40 yards.
Peyton Smith led Frederick Douglass’ ground game with 80 yards on 11 carries. Pharo Watts carried the ball seven times for 68 yards. Dakari Talbert added 56 yards on three carries. TayTay Allen recorded 29 yards on six carries. Jaxon Strautman chipped in with 27 yards and a touchdown on seven carries. Jeremiah Turner carried the ball four times for 11 yards an da touchdown. Jaxon Strautman completed 11 of 16 passes for 123 yards and three touchdowns with one interception. Aveion Chenault caught five passes for 81 yards and three touchdowns. Braylon Moss added two receptions for 20 yards. Dakari Talbert added two catches for 16 yards. Aveion Chenault returned two punts for 26 yards with a long return of 22 yards. Braylon Moss returned two kickoffs for 21 yards with a long return of 14 yards. Dacoldus Fields led the defense with four solo tackles. Tacori Fields and Logan Busson each added three solo and two assisted tackles.
Kade Elam led Corbin’s ground game with 26 yards and a touchdown on four carries. Clay Akins carried the ball four times for 12 yards and a touchdown. Kade Elam completed 15 of 28 passes for 179 yards. Noah Cima caught four passes for 97 yards. C, Creekmore added four receptions for 63 yards. C. Creekmore returned five kickoffs for 91 yards with a long return of 20 yards. Griffin Bates led the defense with six solo and seven assisted tackles. Mason Salmons added six solo and one assisted tackles. Jonah Mahan recorded four solo and four assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a three yard loss. Silas Mahan chipped in with four solo and three assisted tackles. Nashawn Brooks added five solo tackles and intercepted a pass he returned 10 yards.
