February 26th

Sayre vs. Scott County (Girls)

Sayre coach Eric Kinder started the following lineup: 5-8 Sr. Lauren Miller, 5-6 So. Kathryn Kinder, 5-10 So. Lucie Pitman, 5-6 Sr. Toko Ashida, and 5-6 Sr. Juliette Longbottom. Scott County coach Steve Helton countered with 5-8 Jr. Allison Mosby, 5-7 Jr. Maleiyah Moore, 6-0 So. Kierstin Young, 5-6 So. Belle Banner, and 5-7 Sr. Kaylen Perry.

Scott County raced out to a 19-2 first quarter lead on their way to a 65-25 victory over Sayre, Scott County shot 36.9% from the field including one of 15 from the three point line. The Lady Cardinals connected on 16 of 21 free throws, pulled down 45 rebounds, and scored 29 points off 23 Sayre turnovers. Sayre shot 19.5% from the field including one of nine from beyond the arc. The Lady Spartans connected on eight of 18 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 11 Scott County turnovers.

5-7 Jr. Nmya Summers led Scott County with 15 points and two rebounds. Kaylen Perry added 14 points including six of six free throws, two rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Allison Mosby recorded eight points including four of four free throws, and two rebounds. 5-7 So. Dymon Percell chipped in with six points, two blocked shots, and four steals. 5-8 So. Jessica Horn recorded four points, 18 rebounds, three assists, and two steals.

Kathryn Kinder led Sayre with eight points, four rebounds, and three steals. Juliette Longbottom added eight points and three rebounds. Lucie Pitman recorded three points, seven rebounds, and three blocked shots.

Sayre coach Robert Goodman countered with 6-4 Jr. Chase Parker, 6-1 Jr. Brock Coffman, 6-6 Sr. Ian Reesor, 5-8 Sr. Noah Gallagher, and 5-11 Jr. Luke Pennington.

Sayre defeated Scott County by the score of 55-46. There were five lead changes and two ties in this game. Sayre shot 41.9% from the field including two of 15 from the three point line. The Spartans connected on 17 of 24 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored 28 points off 22 Scott County turnovers. Scott County shot 43.6% from the field including six of 17 from beyond the arc. The Cardinals connected on six of 11 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored nine points off 16 Sayre turnovers.

Ian Reesor led Sayre with 16 points including four of six free throws, seven rebounds, and two assists. Brock Coffman added 13 points, six rebounds, two assists, and three steals. Chase Parker recorded 12 points including six of nine free throws, and three rebounds. Luke Pennington chipped in with six points including four of four free throws, three assists, and two steals.

Ben Glenn led Scott County with 14 points including two three point baskets, and three rebounds. Tristan Christopher added 13 points including three three point baskets, eight rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Xyier Wray recorded seven points and three rebounds.

Frederick Douglass defeated Scott County by the score of 84-48. Frederick Douglass shot 42.9% from the field including nine of 21 from the three point line. The Lady Broncos connected on 15 of 25 free throws, pulled down 49 rebounds, and scored 29 points off 26 Scott County turnovers. Scott County shot 28.8% from the field including three of 19 from beyond the arc. The Lady Cardinals connected on 15 of 18 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored eight points off 17 Frederick Douglass turnovers.

Ayanna-Sarai Darrington led Frederick Douglass with 26 points including six of six free throws, 16 rebounds, four assists, four blocked shots, and five steals. Niah Rhodes added 16 points including four three point baskets, and four rebounds. 5-5 So. Raegan Gregonis recorded 10 points including two three point baskets and three rebounds. Kate Baker chipped in with eight points including two three point baskets. Jaylee Knowles added six points, five rebounds, and two steals.

Maleiyah Moore led Scott County with 12 points including five of five free throws, and five rebounds. Nmya Summers added 10 points, five rebounds, and two steals. Kaylen Perry recorded six points and four steals.

Bryan Station defeated Sayre by the score of 58-51. The score was tied three times and there were nine lead changes in this game. Bryan Station shot 51.1% from the field including two of nine from the three point line. The Defenders connected on 10 of 22 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 12 Sayre turnovers. Sayre shot 33.3% from the field including seven of 20 from beyond the arc. The Spartans connected on eight of 12 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored eight points off seven Sayre turnovers.

Amari Owens led Bryan Station with 20 points, three rebounds, and four steals. Taeshawn Adams added 17 points including five of six free throws, five rebounds, three assists, and four blocked shots. Felix Gonzalez recorded six points, 10 rebounds, and two assists. Daeveon Adams chipped in with six points, five rebounds, and two assists.

Brock Coffman led Sayre with 19 points including two three point baskets, 14 rebounds, and three assists. Ian Reesor added 17 points including two three point baskets, six rebounds, and two assists. Chase Parker recorded 10 points including two three point baskets, five rebounds, and two assists.

Henry Clay raced out to a 20-4 first quarter on their way to a 59-33 victory over Bryan Station. Henry Clay shot 42.9% from the field including five of 11 from the three point line. The Lady Blue Devils connected on 12 of 18 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 24 points off 21 Bryan Station turnovers. Bryan Station shot 25.6% from the field including one of 15 from beyond the arc. The Lady Defenders connected on 10 of 14 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 19 Henry Clay turnovers.

Timarri Miller led Henry Clay with 18 points including 10 of 11 free throws, six rebounds, two assists, and three steals. Lydia Van Metre added 14 points including four three point baskets, and two steals. Ariyanna Sutton recorded 11 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Allison Stone chipped in with eight points, six rebounds, two assists, and seven steals.

Akiyah Wade led Bryan Station with 14 points, four rebounds, and two steals. Kailyn Gentry added 13 points including five of six free throws, seven rebounds, and two blocked shots.

The Lady Broncos connected on 27 of 38 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored eight points off 13 Henry Clay turnovers. Henry Clay shot 32.7% from the field including seven of 14 from beyond the arc. The Lady Blue Devils connected on nine of 15 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 11 Frederick Douglass turnovers.

Ayanna-Sarai Darrington led Frederick Douglass with 15 points including 11 of 12 free throws, 17 rebounds, four blocked shots, and four steals. Jaylee Knowles added 15 points including seven of 16 free throws, nine rebounds, and two assists. Niah Rhodes recorded 12 points including two three point baskets, two rebounds, and two steals. DeMarcus Surratt recorded 14 points, eight rebounds, and two steals. Logan Busson chipped in with nine points, seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals.
