The score was tied 18-18 in the second quarter but Sacred Heart exploded to pull away for a commanding 70-33 victory. The Lady Jaguars connected on four of seven free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored six points off seven Frederick Douglass turnovers. Frederick Douglass shot 33.9% from the field including four of 15 from beyond the arc. The Broncos connected on 15 of 19 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 14 North Laurel turnovers.

Brooke Nichelson led North Laurel with 26 points including three three point baskets, five rebounds, and two assists. Emily Sizemore added 14 points and four assists. Chloe McKnight recorded 10 points, five rebounds, and two blocked shots. Jarie Thomas hit two free throws for the Colonels to tie the score at 46-46 and force the second overtime. Shalyn Sprinkles on eight of 10 free throws to ensure the victory. There were six ties and four lead changes in this game.

Henderson County shot 39.5% from the field including three of 14 from the three point line. The Colonels connected on 19 of 22 free throws, pulled down 21 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 21 Simon Kenton turnovers. Henderson County coach Jeff Haile started the following lineup: 5-9 Fr. Brooklyn Gibson, 5-8 Sr. Mallorie Veal, 5-11 Sr. Jarie Thomas, 5-4 Sr. Savannah Lacer, and 5-9 Sr. Graci Risley. Mercy Academy coach Nick Cann countered with 6-1 Sr. Emma Barnett, 5-9 Jr. Peyton Arnold, 6-2 So. Leah Macy, 5-7 So. Addyson Becker, and 5-10 Sr. Mary Smith (5-5 So. PG Alyssa Murphy is out with an injury).

Henderson County got 30 points from their bench and hit their free throws down the stretch in a 63-59 victory over Mercy Academy. The score was tied 10 times and there were four lead changes in this game. Henderson County shot 48.8% from the field including seven of 15 from the three point line. The Colonels connected on 14 of 17 free throws, pulled down 21 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 10 Mercy Academy turnovers. Mercy Academy shot 44.7% from the field including four of 12 from beyond the arc. The Jaguars connected on 13 of 15 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored eight points off seven Henderson County turnovers.

5-5 So. Shalyn Sprinkles led Henderson County with 21 points including three three point baskets, 10 of 12 free throws, two assists, and two steals. Brooklyn Gibson added 10 points, two rebounds, and four assists. 5-7 So. Anna Kemp recorded nine points, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Jarie Thomas chipped in with seven points, eight rebounds, and three assists. Savannah Lacer added seven points, three rebounds, and five assists.

Leah Macy led Mercy Academy with 30 points including 10 of 11 free throws, 11 rebounds, and four assists. Peyton Arnold added 10 points and two rebounds. Mary Smith recorded nine points and two rebounds. Addyson Becker chipped in with seven points, four rebounds, six assists, and three blocked shots.

George Rogers Clark vs. Sacred Heart Academy (Semifinal) Saturday March 11th

George Rogers Clark coach Robbie Graham countered with 6-1 So. Ciara Byars, 5-7 Sr. Trinity Gay, 6-0 Sr, Brianna Byars, 5-3 8th Grade Kennedy Stamper, and 5-7 Fr. Anaya Chestnut. Sacred Heart Academy coach Donna Moir countered with 6-0 So. ZaKiyah Johnson, 5-10 Jr. Reagan Bender, 6-3 Jr. Angelina Pelayo, 5-8 Sr. Triniti Ralston, and 5-8 Jr. Claire Russell.

Sacred Heart Academy led by nine points with a little more than two minutes left in the game and held on for a 57-53 victory over George Rogers Clark. There were seven ties and three lead changes in the game. Sacred Heart shot 42% from the field including three of nine from the three point line. The Valkyries connected on 12 of 20 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 16 George Rogers Clark turnovers. George Rogers Clark shot 47.6% from the field including seven of 16 from beyond the arc. The Lady Cardinals connected on six of 13 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored five points off nine Sacred Heart turnovers.

ZaKiyah Johnson led Sacred Heart with 22 points including four of five free throws, 10 rebounds, and two assists. Reagan Bender added 21 points including three three point baskets, six of eight free throws, two rebounds, and three steals. Angelina Pelayo recorded six points, five rebounds, and two assists. Triniti Ralston chipped in with three points, four rebounds, seven assists, and three steals. Claire Russell added three points and six rebounds.

Brianna Byars led George Rogers Clark with 23 points, six rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Kennedy Stamper added nine points on three three point baskets and two assists. Ciara Byars recorded eight points, 11 rebounds, four assists, and three blocked shots. Anaya Chestnut chipped in with eight points including two three point baskets and three rebounds.

McCracken County defeated Henderson County by the score of 57-40. McCracken County shot 47.4% from the field including two of 10 from the three point line. They connected on 19 of 23 free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 20 Henderson County turnovers. Henderson County shot 41,2% from the field including two of eight from beyond the arc. The Lady Colonels connected on 10 of 12 free throws, pulled down 19 rebounds, and scored four points off eight McCracken County turnovers.

Claire Johnson led McCracken County with 25 points including six of seven free throws, five rebounds, two assists, and three steals. Destiny Thomas added 17 points including seven of eight free throws, five rebounds, two assists, and four steals. Mikee Buchanan recorded eight points including four of four free throws, four rebounds, two assists, and three steals. Caroline Sivills chipped in with four points, five rebounds, and two steals.

Jarie Thomas led Henderson County with 17 points including three of four free throws, and seven rebounds. Mallorie Veal added eight points including three of three free throws. Graci Risley recorded seven points.

Sacred Heart Academy coach Donna Moir countered with 6-0 So. ZaKiyah Johnson, 5-10 Jr. Reagan Bender, 6-3 Jr. Angelina Pelayo, 5-8 Sr. Triniti Ralston, and 5-8 Jr. Claire Russell.

Sacred Heart Academy defeated McCracken County 68-53 to win their third consecutive state championship. Sacred Heart shot 71.1% from the field including five of 10 from the three point line. The Valkyries connected on nine of 13 free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored 25 points off 17 McCracken County turnovers. McCracken County shot 50% from the field including seven of 18 from beyond the arc. They connected on four of five free throws, pulled down 13 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 15 Sacred Heart turnovers.

ZaKiyah Johnson led Sacred Heart with 30 points on 12 of 14 from the field including two of three beyond the arc, four of five free throws, eight rebounds, five assists, and one blocked shot. Reagan Bender added 19 points including three three point baskets, four assists, and four steals. Angelina Pelayo recorded 17 points, six rebounds, three assists, and two blocked shots. Triniti Ralston chipped in with two points, five assists, and seven steals. Claire Russell added four rebounds and seven assists.

Mikee Buchanan led McCracken County with 13 points including two three point baskets. Caroline Sivills added 11 points, three rebounds, two assists, and four steals. Destiny Thomas recorded nine points, three rebounds, four assists, and six steals. Claire Johnson chipped in with nine points, four rebounds, and three assists. 5-7 Sr. Briley Benton added nine points on three three point baskets.
