Great Crossing vs. Scott County

The 5-0 Warhawks had this date marked on their calendar as they thought this was the year to end Scott County’s five game winning streak but it was not to be. Scott County dominated tonight running their “Winged-T” offense and getting some big plays through the air and an excellent defensive effort shut out Great Crossing by the score of 43-0. Scott County recorded 21 first downs and 425 yards of total offense. The Cardinals were penalized 12 times for 120 yards and lost a fumble. Great Crossing recorded eight first downs and 121 yards of total offense. The Warhawks were penalized four times for 30 yards and had two passes intercepted.

Jacob Fryman led Scott County’s ground game with 84 yards on 16 carries. Ellis Huguely carried the ball seven times for 77 yards. Kayne Garrett recorded 38 yards on five carries. Andrew Hickey completed nine of 13 passes for 184 yards and three touchdowns. DaQuis Brown caught four passes for 74 yards and two touchdowns. Ellis Huguely added two receptions for 77 yards and a touchdown. Logan Jones returned one punt for 17 yards and DaQuis Brown returned a kickoff for 21 yards. JaSante Harmon led the defense with four solo and three assisted tackles. Cam Keller added three solo and five assisted tackles. Paul Garner and Buddy Collins each intercepted a pass.

JK Patterson led Great Crossing’s ground game with 80 yards on 17 carries. Caden Bays completed one of eight passes for eigt yards with two interceptions. Bryce Harmon caught one pass for eight yards. Oryend Fisher led the defense with five solo and two assisted tackles. Tyris Cobbins added five solo and one assisted tackles. Drake Byrd, Clayton Shaddix, and Pilot Lukacsko each recorded four solo and three assisted tackles with 1.5 of Shaddix’s tackles resulting in losses totaling eight yards.
