Madison Central vs. Covington Catholic (Boys)

Madison central coach Allen Feldhaus Jr. started the following lineup: 6-5 Jr. Jaylen Davis, 6-4 Sr. Will Hardin, 6-7 Sr. Robby Todd, 5-11 So. Parker Mullins, and 6-6 Jr. Trey Skaggs.  Covington Catholic coach Scott Ruthsatz countered with 6-6 Jr. Chandler Starks, 6-2 Sr. Mekhi Wilson, 6-8 Sr. Mitchell Rylee, 5-11 Jr. Evan Ipsaro, and 6-1 Jr. Kascyl McGillis.

 

Covington Catholic raced out to a 23-9 first quarter lead on their way to a 68-52 victory over Madison Central.  Covington Catholic shot 49.1% from the field including three of 14 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 11 of 16 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and committed four turnovers.  Madison Central shot 44.4% from the field including two of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Indians connected on 10 of 15 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and committed 11 turnovers.

 

Mitcheel Rylee led Covington Catholic with 24 points and nine rebounds.  Evan Ipsaro added 23 points including seven of eight free throws, four rebounds, and six assists.  Chandler Starks recorded 10 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, two blocked shots, and two steals.

 

Robby Todd led Madison Central with 19 points including five of eight free throws and eight rebounds.  Will Hardin added 14 points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, and four assists.  Jaylen Davis recorded 12 points and four rebounds.  Trey Skaggs chipped in with seven points, five rebounds, and two assists.
