Ballard coach Chris Renner started the following lineup: 6-5 So. Gabe Sisk, 6-3 Jr. Keno Hayden, 6-10 Jr. Maker Bar, 5-10 Sr. Chaunte Marrero, and 6-1 Jr. DJ Tilford.  Madison Central coach Allen Feldhaus Jr. countered with 6-4 So. Jaylen Davis, 6-4 Jr. Will Hardin, 6-6 So. Trey Skaggs, 6-1 Sr. Braeden Ray, and 6-4 Sr. Kole Browne.

 

Ballard withstood a late rally by Madison Central and pulled away late for a 70-61 victory over Madison Central in one of the highly anticipated matchups of the opening round.  Ballard shot 45.2% from the field including four of 16 from the three point line.  The Bruins connected on 10 of 14 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 13 Madison Central turnovers.  Madison Central shot 39.2% from the field including nine of 26 from beyond the arc.  The Indians connected on 12 of 17 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored six points off 10 Ballard turnovers.

 

Keno Hayden led Ballard with 26 points including two three point baskets, three rebounds, and two steals.  Gabe Sisk added 19 points including two three point baskets and seven rebounds.  Maker Bar recorded 11 points, 14 rebounds, four assists, three blocked shots, and two steals.  DJ Tilford chipped in with six points, seven rebounds, and three assists.

 

Kole Browne led Madison Central with 21 points including two three point baskets, seven of 10 free throws, three rebounds, and three assists.  Jaylen Davis added 16 points including three three point baskets, and seven rebounds.  Will Hardin recorded 15 points including four of five free throws, nine rebounds, three assists, two blocked shots, and two steals.  6-0 Sr. Taishon Chenault chipped in with six points on two three point baskets, three rebounds, and five assists.
