Tates Creek coach Matt Yates started the following lineup: 5-8 Jr. Caty Amishaw, 5-7 Sr. Aaleyah Yates, 5-8 Jr. Joyce Mukalamusi, 5-2 Jr. Alisce Lyvers, and 5-5 Jr. Maddie Kauffman.  Lafayette coach Allison Denton countered with 5-10 Jr. Olivia Cathers, 5-7 So. Kylie Noble, 6-0 Jr. Anaya Brown, 5-3 Jr. Catherine Jacobs, and 5-7 Jr. Lauren Walton.

 

Tates Creek scored a 64-60 overtime victory over Lafayette to capture their first district championship since 2005.  There were five lead changes and five ties in this game.  Tates Creek shot 38.9% from the field including seven of 23 from the three point line.  The Lady Commodores connected on 15 of 24 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 17 Lafayette turnovers.  Lafayette shot 33.3% from the field including four of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Generals connected on 26 of 32 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 10 Tates Creek turnovers.

 

Maddie Kauffman led Tates Creek with 28 points including five three point baskets, nine of 10 free throws, three rebounds, and three assists.  5-6 Fr. Ashton Harris added 18 points including four of six free throws, and six rebounds.  Alisce Lyvers recorded seven points, seven rebounds, and 10 assists.

 

Anaya Brown led Lafayette with 23 points including 13 of 15 free throws, 11 rebounds, two assists, three blocked shots, and two steals.  Lauren Walton added 19 points including two three point baskets, nine of 10 free throws, three rebounds, and two steals.  Olivia Cathers recorded six points, 12 rebounds, and two blocked shots.
