Madison Central coach Brad Lovely started the following lineup: 5-10 Fr. Bailey Hensley, 5-10 Sr. Raelynn Miller, 5-11 Sr. Gretchen Hammitt, 5-4 So. Eve Carter, and 5-5 Sr. Brianna Bierbaum. Lexington Christian Academy countered with 5-9 Sr. Gracie Royalty, 5-7 8th Grade Claire Roberts, 6-0 Sr. Emilie Teall, 5-5 8th Grade Ella Gabbert, and 5-7 Jr. Sophia Gabbert.
Madison Central outscored Lexington Christian Academy 21-6 in the second quarter on their way to a 68-42 victory. Madison Central shot 46.9% from the field including two of eight from the three point line. The Indians connected on six of 14 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 34 points off 23 LCA turnovers. LCA shot 30.6% from the field including five of 20 from beyond the arc. The Lady Eagles connected on 15 of 19 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored six points off 10 Madison Central turnovers.
This was truly a team effort for Madison Central with several girls having excellent floor games and some strong defensive efforts. Bailey Hensley had a great offensive effort with 27 points on 13 of 17 from the field and one of three from the free throw line in approximately 20 minutes of playing time. Hensley also pulled down five rebounds and jumped the passing lanes all night recording five steals. Brianna Bierbaum added 11 points and seven rebounds. 5-5 8th Grade Eden Carter recorded four points and five rebounds.
Sophia Gabbert led LCA with 11 points including two three point baskets. Gracie Royalty added 10 points, 10 rebounds, and two blocked shots. Ella Gabbert recorded nine points on three three point baskets. Emilie Teall added six points, eight rebounds, and six blocked shots.
