St. Henry vs. Lexington Catholic (Boy)

St. Henry coach David Faust started the following lineup: 6-3 Sr. Wyatt Vieth, 6-2 Sr. Jude Bessler, 6-1 Sr. Reid Ravenscraft, 5-8 Sr. Cory Shea, and 5-10 Sr. Ryan Butler.  Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman countered with 6-5 Jr. Jack Gohmann, 6-4 So. Hudson Sparks, 6-10 So. Reece Potter, 6-1 Sr. Ryan Russell, and 6-2 Sr. Ben Johnson.

 

Lexington Catholic defeated St. Henry 80-78 in overtime.  The score was tied nine times and there were eight lead changes in this game.  Lexington Catholic shot 55.3% from the field including six of 16 from the three point line.  The Knights connected on 22 of 30 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 12 points off nine St. Henry turnovers.  St. Henry shot 40% from the field including 10 of 29 from beyond the arc.  The Crusaders connected on 16 of 23 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 16 points off nine Lexington Catholic turnovers.

 

Ben Johnson led Lexington Catholic with 31 points including 12 of 14 free throws, nine rebounds, and seven assists.  Jack Gohmann added 15 points and four rebounds.  Ryan Russell recorded 13 points including two three point baskets, six rebounds, and five assists.  Hudson Sparks chipped in with 10 points.  Reece Potter added eight points and nine rebounds.

 

Jude Bessler led St. Henry with 25 points including four three point baskets, five of five free throws, three rebounds, and two steals.  Ryan Butler added 12 points including three three point baskets.  Reid Ravenscraft recorded 11 points, four rebounds, and four assists.  6-4 Sr. Cody Teeten chipped in with 11 points and seven rebounds.  Cory Shea added nine points and six assists.  Wyatt Vieth recorded six points, 10 rebounds, and six assists.
