Frederick Douglass coach Kurt Young started the following lineup: 6-1 Jr. DaShawn Jackson, 6-1 Sr. Jaylan Green, 6-6 Jr. Shemar O’Roy-Ford, 5-8 Jr. Khamri McMullen, and 5-8 Sr. Jarvis Byrd.  Henry Clay coach Daniel Brown countered with 6-2 Sr. Marques Warrick, 6-1 Sr. Sebian Dillard, 6-6 Sr. Jackson Phillips, 5-7 Sr. Terron Hughes, and 6-0Sr. Marquis Mackey.

 

Frederick Douglass defeated Henry Clay 108-104 in a double overtime thriller.  Henry Clay held a 62-49 lead in the third quarter and there were 12 ties and 10 lead changes in the game.  Frederick Douglass shot 57.1% from the field including six of 16 from the three point line.  The Broncos connected on 30 of 36 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored eight points off 11 Henry Clay turnovers.  Henry Clay shot 50.7% from the field including nine of 23 from beyond the arc.  The Blue Devils connected on 19 of 25 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 17 Frederick Douglass turnovers.

 

DaShawn Jackson led Frederick Douglass with 43 points including 17 of 18 free throws, 15 rebounds, five assists, and three steals.  Khamri McMullen added 15 points including eight of 10 free throws.  Jaylan Green recorded 14 points and eight rebounds.  6-0 Sr. Aidan Reid chipped in with 13 points including two three point baskets and four rebounds.  6-2 Jr. Julius Scearce added 13 points including three three point baskets.

 

Marques Warrick led Henry Clay with 48 points including five three point baskets, 11 of 14 free throws, 10 rebounds, seven assists, three blocked shots, and two steals.  Marquis Mackey added 20 points including four of five free throws and three rebounds.  Sebian Dillard recorded 15 points including three three point baskets.
