Great Crossing vs. Western Hills (Girls)

Great Crossing coach Glenn Wilson Jr. started the following lineup: 5-9 8th Grade Ava Schureman, 5-7 So. Rachel Smith, 6-0 Fr. Raegan Barrett, 5-1 Jr. Braylee McMath, and 5-7 So. Timothi Williams.  Western Hills coach Brandon Muravchick countered with 5-5 Jr. Olivia Turner, 5-4 Fr. Lauren McGaughey, 5-10 8th Grade Rachel Shropshire, 5-2 8th Grade Denise Waddell, and 5-4 Sr. Maddie LeCompte.

 

Great Crossing defeated Western Hills by a score of 64-55.  The score was tied three times and there were six lead changes in this game.  Great Crossing shot 34.5% from the field including nine of 32 from the three point line.  The Warhawks connected on 15 of 19 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 16 Western Hills turnovers.  Western Hills shot 46.9% from the field including two of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Wolverines connected on seven of 14 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 11 Great Crossing turnovers.

 

Braylee McMath led Great Crossing with 21 points including eight of nine free throws, five assists, and three steals.  Timothi Williams added 15 points on five three point baskets and four assists.  Raegan Barrett chipped in with eight points.  5-10 Fr. Emma Boehm recorded eight points and six rebounds and 5-4 Jr. Hailey Ward added three points, nine rebounds, nine rebounds, and three assists.

 

Maddie LeCompte led Western Hills with 28 points including six of six free throws, three rebounds, and three steals.  5-1 Sr. Kellen Kilgore added eight points and seven rebounds.  Lauren McGaughey pulled down six rebounds.
