Frankfort coach Chris O’Bryan started the following lineup: 6-2 Sr. Chaz Austin, 5-11 Sr. Will O’Bryan, 6-5 So. Jackson Twombly, 5-8 So. Jordan Blythe, and 5-8 Jr. Charles Ellis. Lexington Christian Academy coach Ted Hall countered with 6-2 Sr. Jacob Goins, 6-2 Sr. Zeke Grier, 6-2 Sr. Aaron Abrahamson, 6-0 Sr. Chase Widmer, and 6-1 So. Tanner Walton.
Frankfort utilized a deliberate style of offense and got a last second basket by Chaz Austin to defeat Lexington Christian Academy by a score of 41-39. LCA had the ball with the clock running down but turned the ball over with seven seconds remaining on the clock setting the stage for Austin’s heroics. The score was tied nine times and there were 12 lead changes in the game.
Frankfort shot 29.3% from the field including four of 24 from the three point line. The Panthers connected on 13 of 19 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 11 points off eight LCA turnovers. LCA shot 42.5% from the field including four of 15 from beyond the arc. The Eagles connected on one of three free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored seven points off nine Frankfort turnovers.
Jackson Twombly led Frankfort with 18 points including 10 of 11 free throws and eight rebounds. Will O’Bryan added nine points and four rebounds. Chaz Austin recorded eight points and eight rebounds.
Tanner Walton led Lexington Christian Academy with 16 points. Zeke Grier added 14 points including two three point baskets.
