Both teams came in with 14-0 records, excellent teams, and coaching legends and the game lived up to the hype.  Johnson Central eked out a 21-20 victory.  Boyle County missed an extra point conversion and Johnson Central made a big defensive stop late in the game.  Boyle County had a late chance in the final minute when they drove to the Johnson Central 28 but The Golden Eagles defended a fourth down pass from Reed Lanter to Reese Smith to ensure the victory.  Johnson Central recorded 17 first downs and 321 yards of total offense.  The Golden Eagles were penalized once for five yards. Boyle County recorded 22 first downs and 402 yards of total offense.  The Rebels were penalized four times for 45 yards, lost three fumbles, and had two passes intercepted.

Dillon Preston was named MVP and led the Johnson Central ground attack with 97 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries.  Riley Preece carried the ball eight times for 69 yards.  Devin Johnson added 49 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries.  Cody Rice recorded 46 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries.  Riley Preece completed two of five passes for 51 yards.  Seth Dalton caught one pass for 46 yards.  Mason Lawson returned two kickoffs for 46 yards with a long return of 26 yards.  Mason Lemaster led the defense with seven solo and two assisted tackles and recovered a fumble.  Hunter McCloud added six solo and three assisted tackles and recovered a fumble.  Dillon Preston recorded six solo and two assisted tackles and intercepted a pass.  Cody Rice chipped in with five solo and two assisted tackles and intercepted a pass and had two pass breakups.  Grant Rice also recovered a fumble.

Will McDaniel led Boyle County’s ground game with 62 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries.  Andrew Sacco carried the ball four times for 41 yards.  Reed Lanter completed 31 of 48 passes for 300 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions.  Reiley Colwick caught 14 passes for 133 yards and a touchdown. Reese Smith added 11 receptions for 150 yards and a touchdown.  Jackson Smith punted twice for a 44.0 average with a long punt of 51 yards.  Reiley Colwick returned two kickoffs for 31 yards.  Reese Smith led the defense with eight solo and one assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling eight yards.  Coleman Clark added five solo and three assisted tackles.  Wilson Kelly recorded five solo and two assisted tackles.  Will McDaniel added four solo and three assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling seven yards.
