Marshall coach Dan D’Antoni countered with 6-9 Jr. Jannson Williams, 6-5 So. Taevion Kinsey, 6-9 So. Iran Bennett, 5-11 Jr. Jarrod West, and 6-3 Fr. Andrew Taylor.

Marshall defeated Eastern Kentucky University by a score of 90-72.  Marshall shot 46.4% from the field including nine of 26 from the three point line.  The Thundering Herd connected on 17 of 24 free throws, pulled down 51 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 22 Eastern Kentucky University turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky University shot 35.9% from the field including six of 21 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on 20 of 32 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 24 points off 22 Marshall turnovers.

Iran Bennett led Marshall with 21 points and 16 rebounds.  Taevion Kinsey added 19 points including two three point baskets, six rebounds, and four assists.  6-7 Fr. Marko Sarenac and 6-7 Jr. Darius George each recorded 11 points including two three point baskets.  Andrew Taylor added eight points including two three point baskets, five rebounds, five assists, and three steals. 

Tre King led Eastern Kentucky University with 15 points and five rebounds.  Jomaru Brown added 14 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, and three steals.  6-9 Sr.Lachlan Anderson recorded 13 points including six of eight free throws.  Ty Taylor chipped in with 11 points.  6-7 Fr. Michael Moreno recorded eight points and eight rebounds.
