Madison Central vs. Woodford County (Girls)

Madison Central coach Brad Lovely started the following lineup: 5-9 Jr. Raelynn Miller, 5-7 Fr. Chloe Freeman, 5-11 Sr. Jekauri McKeithen, 5-4 Fr. Eve Carter, and 5-5 Jr. Brianna Bierbaum. (Madison Central was without the services of 5-7 Sr. Taleya Todd and 5-7 Jr. Lacie Parks).  Woodford County coach Erik Daniels countered with 6-1 Sr. Kayla Harlow, 5-6 Jr. Adriana Jackson, 6-0 Sr. Delaney Enlow, 5-5 Jr. Niyaune Gentry, and 5-7 Sr. Abby Moffett.

 

Poor shooting from the field (16.9%) from the field and the inside-outside game of Woodford County spelled doom for Madison Central as Woodford County took a 49-33 victory tonight.  Woodford County shot 27.1% from the field including four of 19 from the three point line.  The Yellow Jackets connected on 13 of 19 free throws, pulled down 53 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 21 Madison Central turnovers.  Madison Central shot 16.9% from the field including four of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Indians connected on nine of 15 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 21 Woodford County turnovers.

 

Abby Moffett led Woodford County with 19 points including three three point baskets, eight of eight free throws, five rebounds, and three assists.  Delaney Enlow added nine points, 14 rebounds, two assists, and one blocked shot.  Kayla Harlow recorded four points, nine rebounds, two assists, and seven blocked shots.  5-6 So. Mackenzie Karo recorded five points, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

 

Brianna Bierbaum led Madison Central with 11 points including three three point baskets.  Jekauri McKeithen added six points, 11 rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Eve Carter pulled down eight rebounds.  5-3 7th Grade Brittany Campbell recorded four points on four of four free throws, two rebounds, one assist, and one steal.
