Murray State University coach Rechelle Turner started the following lineup: 6-0 So. Brianna Crane, 5-10 Fr. Alexis Burpo, 6-1 Jr. Evelyn Adebayo, 5-6 Fr. Macey Turley, and 5-9 So. Janika Griffith-Wallace. Eastern Kentucky University coach Chrissy Roberts countered with 6-0 Jr. Catie Kaifes, 5-11 So. Bria Bass, 6-2 Sr. Madison Pierce, 5-8 Jr. Shay Solomon, and 5-11 Gr. Paige Murphy.
Eastern Kentucky took a 61-60 lead with 8:56 left in the game but Murray State finished the game on a 16-2 run to earn a 76-63 victory over the Colonels. The score was tied once and there were two lead changes in the game. Murray State shot 44.1% from the field including 11 of 24 from the three point line. They connected on 13 of 16 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 15 Eastern Kentucky turnovers. Eastern Kentucky shot 48.2% from the field including seven of 19 from beyond the arc. The Colonels connected on two of four free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored nine points off 13 Murray State turnovers.
Evelyn Adebayo led Murray State with 23 points including three three point baskets, 13 rebounds, and two steals. Macey Turley added 14 points including three three point baskets, five rebounds, and six assists. Janika Griffith-Wall recorded 14 points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, and three assists. 5-7 Fr. Lex Mayes chipped in with nine points on three three point baskets and three assists. 6-1 Jr. Cekeya Mack recorded nine points and six rebounds.
Catie Kaifes led Eastern Kentucky with 15 points including two three point baskets, five rebounds, two blocked shots, and two steals. Shay Solomon added 12 points, nine rebounds, and four assists. Bria Bass recorded 12 points, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Paige Murphy added 12 points including two three point baskets and three rebounds.
