Tennessee Tech coach Steve Payne started the following lineup: 6-9 Jr. Micaiah Henry, 6-8 Sr. Courtney Alexander, 7-0 Gr. Malik Martin, 6-0 Fr. Jr. Clay, and 6-4 Fr. Hunter Vick.  Eastern Kentucky University coach A.W. Hamilton countered with 6-8 Fr. Tre King, 6-4 Fr. Houston King, 6-9 Sr. Nick Mayo, 5-10 Jr. Dujuanta Weaver, and 6-2 Jr. Kelvin Robinson.

 

Tennessee Tech rallied late in the game to defeat Eastern Kentucky University by a score of 91-85.  The score was tied eight times and there were 12 lead changes in this game.  Tennessee Tech shot 54.2% from the field including 11 of 22 from the three point line.  The Golden Eagles connected on 16 of 28 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 18 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 44.8% from the field including eight of 21 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on 25 of 27 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 22 Tennessee Tech turnovers.

 

Jr. Clay led Tennessee tech with 22 points including three three point baskets, nine rebounds, eight assists, and two steals.  6-1 Jr. Corey Tillery added 18 points including five three point baskets.  Malik Martin recorded 17 points and eight rebounds.  Courtney Alexander added 10 points, eight rebounds, three assists, and seven steals.

 

Nick Mayo led Eastern Kentucky with 29 points including 11 of 13 free throws, nine rebounds, and three assists.  Kelvin Robinson added 17 points including six of six free throws, four rebounds, five assists, and eight steals.  Houston King recorded 15 points including three three point baskets.
