Lafayette coach Mike Mendenhall III started the following lineup: 6-2 Sr. Javen Hardin, 5-10 Sr. Evan Dreux, 6-9 Jr. Ray Surratt, 5-5 So. Daniel Kinley, and 5-8 Sr. Caleb True.  Central coach Doug Bibby countered with 6-0 Jr. Dejuan Parks, 5-10 So. Devin Perry, 6-0 Jr. Jeremiah Johnson, 5-7 Sr. Josh Watkins, and 5-7 Sr. Eric Rice.

 

Lafayette trailed 36-30 at halftime but they outscored Central 27-8 in the third quarter on their way to a 77-66 victory.  Lafayette shot 51.9% from the field including six of 23 from the three point line.  The Generals connected on 15 of 19 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 15 Central turnovers.  Central shot 41.8% from the field including 14 of 31 from beyond the arc.  The Yellow Jackets connected on six of eight free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 14 Lafayette turnovers.

 

Caleb True led Lafayette with 23 points including eight of eight free throws, six rebounds, and three steals.  Ray Surratt added 18 points, eight rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Daniel Kinley recorded 13 points including three three point baskets.  Evan Dreux added 12 points, six rebounds, and five assists.

 

5-10 So. Shane Bibby led Central with 15 points on five three point baskets.  Eric Rice added 14 points and five rebounds.  Josh Watkins recorded 13 points including four three point baskets and three steals.
