Covington Catholic coach Scott Ruthsatz countered with 6-5 Sr. Jack Davin, 6-4 Sr. Tyler Fleek, 6-8 Sr. Nick Thelen, 5-10 Jr. Grant Disken, and 6-1 Jr. Joseph Moser.
Covington Catholic raced out to a 23-9 first quarter lead on their way to a 67-42 victory over Lexington Catholic. Covington Catholic shot 51.1% from the field including nine of 22 from the three point line. The Colonels connected on 12 of 21 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 13 Lexington Catholic turnovers. Lexington Catholic shot 33.3% from the field including five of 15 from beyond the arc. The Knights connected on nine of 17 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 10 Covington Catholic turnovers.
Grant Disken led Covington Catholic with 23 points including six three point baskets, six rebounds, and three assists. Nick Thelen added 14 points and four rebounds. Jack Davin recorded nine points, eight rebounds, and six assists.
Ben Johnson led Lexington Catholic with 14 points including three three point baskets and four assists. Patrick Geoghegan added nine points.
