Eastern Kentucky University coach A.W. Hamilton countered with 6-5 So. Peyton Broughton, 6-5 Jr. Jordan Oakley, 6-9 Sr. Nick Mayo, 5-10 Jr. Dujuanta Weaver, and 6-2 Jr. Kelvin Robinson.
Marshall defeated a cold shooting Eastern Kentucky team (3 of 27 from beyond the arc) by a score of 105-77. Marshall shot 50% from the field including eight of 23 from the three point line. The Thundering Herd connected on 21 of 32 free throws, pulled down 53 rebounds, and scored 25 points off 17 Eastern Kentucky turnovers. Eastern Kentucky shot 32.5% from the field including three of 27 from beyond the arc. The Colonels connected on 22 of 36 free throws, pulled down 49 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 16 Marshall turnovers.
C.J. Burks led Marshall with 30 points including two three point baskets. Jon Elmore added 20 points , six assists, and three blocked shots. 6-5 Fr. Taevion Kinsey recorded 14 points and four rebounds. Jannson Williams added 11 points and eight rebounds. 6-7 So. Darius George chipped in with nine points on three three point baskets and seven rebounds. 6-4 Sr. Rondale Watson added eight points, 10 rebounds, and five assists.
Nick Mayo had a big game for Eastern Kentucky tonight with 26 points including eight of eight free throws, 15 rebounds, and three blocked shots. Kelvin Robinson added 13 points and seven rebounds. 6-2 Fr. Jomaru Brown recorded 11points. 6-8 Jr. Lachlan Anderson added eight points and five rebounds. Dujuanta Weaver recorded seven points and seven rebounds.
