Lafayette vs. South Laurel (Girls)

Lafayette coach Allison Denton started the following lineup: 5-10 Jr. Lindi DeBilzan, 5-8 Sr. Caroline Bennett, 5-10 Sr. Tekiya Garr-Carter, 5-7 Sr. Terri Abram, and 5-8 Fr. Rylie Grantz.  South Laurel coach Jon Walker countered with 5-8 Sr. Taylor Cromer, 5-8 Jr. Mariah Anders, 6-0 Jr. Dianna Morgan, 5-6 So. Ally Collett, and 5-7 So. Amerah Steele.

 

South Laurel defeated Lafayette by a score of 59-48.  South Laurel shot 50% from the field including seven of 17 from the three point line.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 10 of 18 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 18 Lafayette turnovers.  Lafayette shot 31.4% from the field including eight of 26 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Generals connected on eight of 11 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 15 South Laurel turnovers.

 

Ally Collett led South Laurel with 20 points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, six assists, and two steals.  Amerah Steele added 16 points including three three point baskets.  Diana Morgan recorded eight points, nine rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Taylor Cromer chipped in with eight points including two three point baskets, three rebounds, and four assists.

 

Caroline Bennett led Lafayette with 20 points including six three point baskets, six rebounds, four assists, three blocked shots, and three steals.  Lindi DeBilzan added 12 points, 11 rebounds, and four assists.  Tekiya Garr-Carter recorded nine points and five rebounds.
