South Laurel vs. Henry Clay (Boys)

South Laurel coach Jeff Davis started the following lineup: 6-4 Jr. JJ Ramey, 6-1 Sr. Clay Weaver, 6-4 Sr. Ryan Anders, 6-1 So. Matthew Cromer, and 6-1 Sr. Logan Madden.  Henry Clay coach Daniel Brown countered with 6-2 Jr. Harris Hawkins, 6-1 Sr. Jalen Williams, 6-4 Sr. Andreus Green, 5-10 So. Marquez Warrick, and 6-0 Jr. Keaston Brown.

 

Henry Clay defeated South Laurel by a score of 82-75.  Henry Clay led 41-19 late in the second quarter but South Laurel rallied to close the margin.  Henry Clay shot 47.4% from the field including 11 of 24 from the three point line.  The Blue Devils connected on 17 of 22 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 30 points off 18 South Laurel turnovers.  South Laurel shot 54% from the field including 10 of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Cardinals connected on 11 of 14 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 13 points off eight Henry Clay turnovers.

 

Marquez Warrick led Henry Clay with 33 points including six three point baskets, three rebounds, and three assists.  Warrick was 12 of 15 from the field including six of eight from beyond the arc, and three of four free throws.  Keaston Brown added 18 points including two three point baskets, eight of 10 free throws, and five assists.  5-9 Jr. Ramond Jackson recorded six points, nine rebounds, four assists, and three steals.

 

Matthew Cromer led South Laurel with 24 points including three three point baskets and nine rebounds.  JJ Ramey added 24 points including six three point baskets, six rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Ryan Anders chipped in with 10 points, three rebounds, and three assists.
