Corbin coach Tony Pietrowski started the following lineup: 6-4 Sr. Andrew Taylor, 6-3 So. Matthew Taylor, 6-3 Jr. Chase Sanders, 6-0 Sr. Chandler Stewart, and 6-0 Jr. Brody Barton.  Mercer County coach Josh Hamlin countered with 6-4 Sr. Trevon Faulkner, 5-11 So. Kaelin Drakeford, 6-4 Sr. Gunnar Gillis, 5-6 Sr. Ty Devine, and 5-9 Jr. Carter Baughman.

 

Mercer County raced out to a 29-10 first quarter lead on their way to an 87-70 victory over Corbin.  Mercer County shot a sizzling 55.45 from the field including 13 of 26 from the three point line.  The Titans connected on 12 of 18 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 10 Corbin turnovers.  Corbin shot 40.9% from the field including 10 of 29 from beyond the arc.  The Redhounds connected on six of eight free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored four points off Mercer County turnovers.

 

Gunnar Gillis led a balanced Mercer County scoring attack with 23 points and 11 rebounds.  Kaelin Drakeford added 19 points including five three point baskets and five rebounds.  Trevon Faulkner recorded 18 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists.  Ty Devine chipped in with 18 points including four three point baskets.

 

Andrew Taylor led Corbin with 41 points including seven three point baskets, 10 rebounds, and five assists.  Matthew Taylor added 13 points including three three point baskets and five rebounds.  Chase Sanders recorded 10 points and six rebounds.
