Western Kentucky University led 17-0 at halftime and held on to defeat Eastern Kentucky University by a score of 31-17.  Western Kentucky recorded 20 first downs and 364 yards of total offense.  The Hilltoppers were penalized three times for 25 yards and lost a fumble.  Eastern Kentucky recorded 22 first downs and 345 yards of total offense.  The Colonels were penalized five times for 65 yards.

Marquez Trigg led Western Kentucky’s ground game with 61 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries.  D’Andre Ferby carried the ball 19 times for 57 yards and two touchdowns.  Mike White completed 20 of 31 passes for 264 yards and a touchdown.  Lucky Jackson caught five passes for 144 yards and a touchdown.  Deon Yelder added four receptions for 40 yards.  Nacarius Fant caught four passes for 32 yards.  J. Iyiegbuniwe led the defense with seven solo and two assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling three yards.  Devon Key added two solo and six assisted tackles.  Joe Brown recorded four solo and two assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in an eight yard loss.

LJ Scott led Eastern Kentucky’s ground game with 25 yards on eight carries.  Tim Boyle completed 29 of 46 passes for 320 yards and two touchdowns.  Ryan Markush caught seven passes for 107 yards and two touchdowns.  Neiko Creamer added six receptions for 79 yards.  Dan Paul recorded five catches for 47 yards.  LJ Scott caught five passes for 35 yards.  LJ Scott returned two kickoffs for 47 yards.  Damon Lowe led the defense with five solo and one assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a two yard loss.  Jeffrey Canady added four solo and two assisted tackles.  Eric Reed recorded three solo and three assisted tackles and recovered a fumble he returned for 44 yards.  Taquan Evans added two solo and one assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 16 yards.  Luder Jean Louis recorded three solo and one assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 12 yards and forced a fumble.
