Belfry utilized their ground-and-pound offense (584 yards and six touchdowns on 53 carries; an 11.0 average) to defeat Bryan Station by a score of 40-19 to negate a brilliant performance by Bryan Station QB Jalen Burbage who ran for 176 yards and a touchdown and passed for 204 yards and another touchdown.  Belfry recorded 21 first downs and 584 yards of total offense.  The Pirates were penalized nine times for 60 yards and lost four fumbles.  Bryan Station recorded 16 first downs and 392 yards of total offense.  The Defenders were penalized five times for 53 yards, lost two fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.

Derek Wellman led Belfry’s ground game with 200 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries.  Taveon Hunter carried the ball seven times for 175 yards and two touchdowns.  Justin Adkins recorded 80 yards and a touchdown on eight carries.  Peyton Hensley carried the ball eight times for 59 yards and a touchdown.  Kevin Browning carried the ball nine times for 55 yards.  The Pirates did not attempt a pass tonight.  Derek Wellman led the defense with 10 solo and one assisted tackles.  Justin Adkins added five solo and three assisted tackles.

Jalen Burbage led Bryan Station’s ground game with 176 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries.  Jalen Burbage completed 13 of 30 passes for 204 yards and one touchdown with one interception.  Kendrick Curry caught four passes for 65 yards.  Chris Jones also caught four passes for 61 yards.  Terrance Clayton-Murphy added three receptions for 64 yards and a touchdown.  Bryson Fields led the defense with three solo and five assisted tackles.  Gabe Kennedy and Michael Thomas each recorded four solo and two assisted tackles.  C. Benton recovered a fumble that he returned 33 yards and a touchdown.  Brandon Hutsell, Brandon Fields, and W. Mitchell each recovered a fumble.
