Franklin County vs. Woodford County

Franklin County scored on the ground, through the air, blocked punt return, and an interception return in a 33-20 victory over Woodford County. Franklin County recorded 12 first down and 253 yards of total offense. The Flyers were penalized 11 times for 105 yards and had a pass intercepted. Woodford County recorded 20 first downs and 322 yards of total offense. The Yellow Jackets were penalized 12 times for 188 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.
Jesse Thurman led Franklin County’s ground game with 43 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries. Jesse Thurman completed eight of 16 passes for 150 yards and two touchdowns with one interception. Tre Simmons caught four passes for 85 yards and two touchdowns. Cameron Phelps added a reception for 45 yards. Chad Holleran led the defense with four solo and five assisted tackles. Jalin Benson added three solo and seven assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 11 yards. Tre Simmons added four solo tackles and intercepted a pass he returned 97 yards for a touchdown. Ameer Lee scored on a blocked punt return.
Brody McCoun led Woodford County’s ground game with 86 yards and a touchdown on seven carries. Ben Nash carried the ball 16 times for 48 yards and a touchdown. Quinton Turner completed 13 of 25 passes for 123 yards and a touchdown. Lee Kain caught six passes for 50 yards and a touchdown. Ryan Duke added four receptions for 51 yards. J. Coffman led the defense with seven solo and two assisted tackles. Brennan Clark added six solo and two assisted tackles.
