Eastern Kentucky University coach Dan McHale started the following lineup: 6-7 Jr. Zach Charles, 6-2 Sr. Isaac McGlone, 6-9 So. Nick Mayo, 5-11 Fr. Asante Gist, and 6-0 Jr. Dillon Avare.  Tennessee State University coach Dana Ford countered with 6-7 Sr. Wayne Martin, 6-5 Sr. Tahjere McCall, 6-9 So. Christian Mekowulu, 5-10 So. Armani Chaney, and 6-4 Sr. Jordan Reed.

 

Tennessee State University eked out a 68-66 victory over Eastern Kentucky.  Tennessee State University shot 45.1% from the field including four of 12 from the three point line.  The Tigers connected on 18 of 22 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 16 Eastern Kentucky University turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 44.4% from the field including 12 of 22 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on 14 of 18 free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored 14 point off 19 Tennessee State turnovers. 

 

Tahjere McCall led Tennessee State with 20 points including six of seven free throws, seven rebounds, seven assists, and four steals.  Christian Mekowulu added nine points and three rebounds.  Jordan Reed recorded eight points and 13 rebounds.  Wayne Martin also scored eight points. 

 

Nick Mayo led Eastern Kentucky University with 24 points including five three point baskets, seven of eight free throws, seven rebounds, and four assists.  Dillon Avare added 15 points on five three point baskets, three assists, and three steals.  Asante Gist recorded 12 points and three assists.
