Austin Peay University coach Dave Loos started the following lineup: 6-5 So. Jared Savage, 6-5 So. Chris Porter-Bunton, 6-6 Sr. Kenny Jones, 6-0 So. Zach Glotta, and 6-3 Sr. John Murry.  Eastern Kentucky University coach Dan McHale countered with 6-7 Jr. Zach Charles, 6-6 Fr. Marlon Adams, 6-9 So. Nick Mayo, 5-11 Fr. Asante Gist, and 6-2 Sr. Isaac McGlone.

 

Austin Peay captured an 83-81 overtime thriller over Eastern Kentucky University tonight.  Eastern Kentucky appeared to have it won in regulation with a 71-67 with 21 seconds remaining on the clock and Isaac McGlone hit one of two free throws to give the Colonels a 71-68 lead.  Austin Peay missed a three point attempt but Zach Glotta rebounded the missed shot and nailed a three point basket tie the game at 71-71 and force overtime.  Eastern Kentucky led 78-75 in overtime but Austin Peay finished the game on an 8-3 run to earn the victory.  There were 14 ties and 16 lead changes in this game.

 

Austin Peay shot 53.6% from the field including eight of 16 from the three point line.  The Governors connected on 15 of 25 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 12 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 45.6% from the field including nine of 29 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on 10 of 12 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 24 points off 16 Austin Peay turnovers.

 

John Murry led Austin Peay with 27 points including eight of 10 free throws.  Kenny Jones added 23 points, 14 rebounds, and three steals.  Zach Glotta recorded 12 points on four three point baskets.  Jared Savage chipped in with 10 points, eight rebounds, and four steals.  Chris Porter-Bunton also reached double figures with 10 points.

 

Asante Gist led Eastern Kentucky with 24 points including six three point baskets and five assists.  Nick Mayo added 19 points, eight rebounds, seven assists, and two steals.  Isaac McGlone recorded 14 points including three three point baskets, four rebounds, and five assists.  6-6 Fr. DeAndre Dishman chipped in with 14 points and five rebounds.  Zach Charles added eight points and six rebounds.
