Prestonsburg coach Brandon Gearheart started the following lineup: 5-7 Jr. Madison Rainey, 5-3 So. Reesce Endicott, 5-7 Jr. Jana Jarvis, 5-0 8th Grader Alivia Slone, and 5-3 8th Grader Courtney Stamper.  Madison Central coach Robert Cooksey countered with 5-7 Sr. Kasi Schneid, 5-4 Fr. Taleya Todd, 6-0 Sr. Mallie Cornett, 5-4 Jr. Bailee Vanover, and 5-4 So. Madison Barnard ( Lindsey Johns and Charity Mack were both unavailable for today’s game).

 

Madison Central raced out to a 19-1 first quarter lead on their way to a 67-43 victory over Prestonsburg and evened their season record at 5-5.  Madison Central shot 53.7% from the field including five of 13 from the three point line.  The Indians connected on four of eight free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 14 Prestonsburg turnovers.  Prestonsburg shot 32.1% from the field including four of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Blackcats connected on five of 10 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 11 Madison Central turnovers.

 

Mallie Cornett led Madison Central with 20 points, five rebounds, six assists, and five blocked shots.  Cornett was nine of 11 from the field and two of two from the free throw line.  Kasi Schneid added 16 points including three three point baskets, five rebounds, five assists, and four steals.  Bailee Vanover added eight points, seven rebounds, and three assists.  Taleya Todd added nine points and five assists.

 

Jana Jarvis led Prestonsburg with 16 points including three three point baskets, nine rebounds, and two assists.  Alivia Slone added nine points, six rebounds, and four assists.  Faith Lazaar chipped in with seven points.
