Wolfe County coach Robert Creech started the following lineup: 6-1 Sr. Jason Haddix, 6-1 Jr. Deven Stone, 6-2 Sr. Corey Rice, 5-10 Sr. David Spencer, and 6-0 So. Jarrett White. Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman countered with 6-5 Jr. Zan Payne, 6-3 Jr. TC Price, 6-7 Sr. Peter Whitman, 5-11 Sr. Blake Scott, and 6-3 Sr. Luke Johnson.
Lexington Catholic raced out to a 26-11 first quarter lead on their way to an 87-58 victory over Wolfe County. Fifteen Lexington Catholic players saw action tonight with 13 entering the scoring column. Lexington Catholic shot 46.9% from the field including nine of 23 from the three point line. The Knights connected on 18 of 30 free throws, pulled down 44 rebounds, and scored 28 points off 21 Wolfe County turnovers. Wolfe County shot 38% from the field including five of 19 from beyond the arc. The Wolves connected on 15 of 21 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored nine points off 11 Lexington Catholic turnovers.
Luke Johnson led Lexington Catholic with 16 points including two three point baskets, seven assists, and four steals in 14: 22 minutes of playing time. Blake Scott added 12 points on four three point baskets. Zan Payne recorded nine points and 12 rebounds and TC Price chipped in with eight points. Peter Whitman added seven points, four rebounds, and three blocked shots. 6-2 So. John Poulton added nine points, three rebounds, and two steals.
Deven Stone led Wolfe County with 24 points including four three point baskets, four rebounds, and two steals. Jason Haddix added 11 points and nine rebounds. Jarrett White chipped in with seven points and five rebounds.
