Madison Central vs. Lexington Catholic

Madison Central dominated play tonight in a game that was delayed almost two and a half hours at halftime due to lightning to defeat Lexington Catholic by a score of 27-14.  Madison Central led 13-0 at halftime but Lexington Catholic cut the deficit to 13-7 mid way through the third quarter but Madison Central answered with 14 straight points to take a 27-7 lead.  Lexington Catholic was without the services of their number one running back Dameon Jones tonight.  Zach Hardin made some timely completions for Madison Central, the running backs averaged 5.8 yards per carry and the kicking game was outstanding.  The defense came up big holding Lexington Catholic to 247 yards and recorded one fumble recovery and two interceptions.  Madison Central recorded 19 first downs and 432 yards of total offense.  The Indians were penalized seven times for 57 yards and had a pass intercepted.  Lexington Catholic recorded 11 first downs and 247 yards of total offense.  The Knights were penalized twice for 19 yards, lost a fumble, and had two passes intercepted.

Jabari Huguely led Madison Central’s ground game with 153 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries.  Ethan Hahn carried the ball six times for 39 yards.  Zach Hardin recorded 37 yards on six carries.  Gavin Hulberg added 20 yards and a touchdown on five carries.  Zach Hardin completed seven of 11 passes for 138 yards and a touchdown with one interception.  Keenan Miller caught three passes for 32 yards and a touchdown.  Ethan Hahn added two receptions for 98 yards.  Landon White kicked off six times with six touchbacks, kicked three extra points and two field goals.  Jackson Juett led the defense with five solo tackles.  Tristan Moorehead also recovered five solo tackles.  Daniel Baker recorded two solo tackles which resulted in losses totaling 10 yards.  KJ Long and C. Everly each recorded interceptions.

Kirk Fagot led Lexington Catholic’s ground game with 29 yards on 11 carries.  Jack Fagot carried the ball four times for eight yards and a touchdown.  Kirk Fagot completed 14 of 24 passes for 195 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions.  Nathan Schnurr caught five passes for 39 yards.  Gavin Cameron added three receptions for 56 yards.  Ben Buchignani caught two passes for 84 yards and a touchdown.  Austin Pedroche led the defense with eight solo and four assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 10 yards.  Jack Fagot added seven solo and three assisted tackles.  Sid Sharp recorded six solo and five assisted tackles and intercepted a pass.
