Johnson Central coach Tommy McKenzie started the following lineup: 6-4 Sr. Josh Hitchcock, 5-10 Jr. Cole Crace, 6-4 Sr. Tyler Pack, 5-4 Fr. Jacob Rice, and 5-11 Jr. Mason Blair.  Pikeville coach Bart Williams countered with 6-1 Jr. Mikey McDonald, 6-0 Sr. Blaine May, 6-1 So. Wyatt Battaile, 5-10 Jr. Clay Slone, and 5-10 Sr. Cody Charles.

 

Pikeville defeated Johnson Central 97-92 in an exciting offensive shootout tonight.  Pikeville shot a sizzling 60.7% from the field including 13 of 24 from the three point line.  The Panthers connected on 16 of 19 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored seven points off five Johnson Central turnovers.  Johnson Central shot 51.4% from the field including 14 of 33 from beyond the arc.  The Golden Eagles connected on six of nine free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 10 Pikeville turnovers.

 

Wyatt Battaile led Pikeville with 26 points including four three point baskets, 13 rebounds, and six assists.  Cody Charles added 25 points and four assists.  Clay Slone recorded 23 points including seven three point baskets.  Mikey McDonald chipped in with 15 points and six rebounds.

 

Mason Blair led Johnson Central with 32 points including seven three point baskets and four rebounds.  Cole Crace added 23 points, four assists, and three steals.  Tyler Pack recorded 12 points and 12 rebounds.  Josh Hitchcock chipped in with 11 points including three three point baskets, four rebounds, and six assists.  Jacob Rice added 11 points, five assists, and three steals.
