Hazard vs. Lexington Catholic (Girls)

Hazard coach Harold Brashear started the following lineup: 5-9 So. Olivia Holland, 5-6 So. Destiny Walker, 5-9 Sr. Alexis Griffie, 5-2 Sr. Colbi Johnson, and 5-4 So. Alyssa Muha.  Lexington Catholic coach Scott True countered with 5-9 Jr. Laken Pinkerman, 5-7 Fr. Jay Ballard, 5-9 Sr. Sarah Bonn, 5-3 So. Ashley Frebis, and 5-7 Sr. Caroline Osbourn.

 

Lexington Catholic dominated the boards and held a 17-4 advantage on second chance points in a 60-35 victory over Hazard.  Lexington Catholic shot 33.3% from the field including eight of 22 from the three point line.  The Lady Knights connected on 14 of 18 free throws, pulled down 47 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 11 Hazard turnovers.  Hazard shot 26.1% from the field including three of 10 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Bulldogs connected on eight of 12 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored five points off seven Lexington Catholic turnovers.

 

Jay Ballard led Lexington Catholic with 17 points including five three point baskets.  Sarah Bonn added 11 points.  Caroline Osbourn recorded nine points, 12 rebounds, and five assists.  Ashley Frebis pulled down 10 rebounds.

 

Destiny Walker and Colbi Johnson led Hazard with eight points each.  5-5 7th Grade Hayley Caudill recorded seven points.  Olivia Holland pulled down seven rebounds.
