Henry Clay coach Eric Sanford started the following lineup: 5-9 Sr. Jordyn Johnson, 5-8 So. Braxton Price, 5-10 Sr. Nakeisha Green, 5-6 Sr. T’Laya Lyvers, and 5-7 Fr. Kiya Thompson. Lafayette coach Allison Denton countered with 5-11 Jr. Kiara Pankins, 5-8 So. Caroline Bennett, 5-10 Sr. Aisha Conwell, 5-6 So. Terri Abram, and 5-8 8th Grade Shelbi Wilson.
Henry Clay outscored Lafayette 21-10 in the second quarter on their way to a 59-50 victory. There were nine lead changes and three ties in this game. Henry Clay shot 42.6% from the field including three of 13 from the three point line. The Lady Blue Devils connected on 10 of 15 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 29 points off 22 Lafayette turnovers. Lafayette shot 44.7% from the field including five of 11 from beyond the arc. The Lady Generals connected on 11 of 18 free throws, pulled down 20 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 18 Henry Clay turnovers.
T’Laya Lyvers led Henry Clay with 27 points including three three point baskets and 11 rebounds. Jordyn Jackson added 10 points and seven rebounds. Nakeisha Green recorded eight points and six rebounds. Braxton Price chipped in with eight points, four assists, and three steals.
Kiara Pankins led Lafayette with 18 points and five rebounds. Terri Abram added eight points and four rebounds. Caroline Bennett chipped in with eight points and three rebounds.
