Henry Clay coach Eric Sanford started the following lineup: 5-9 Sr. Anovia Byars, 5-8 So. Braxton Price, 5-10 Sr. Nakeisha Green, 5-4 So. Alexis Lutz, and 5-8 Jr. Lexi Long.  Green County coach Chris Blaydes countered with 5-8 So. Shelby Howell, 5-6 So. Ivy Hedgespeth, 6-1 Jr. Whitney Perian, 5-3 Jr. Mya Schrembs, and 5-4 So. Hannah Judd.

 

Henry Clay defeated Green County by a score of 51-48.  The score was tied three times and there were five lead changes in the game.  Henry Clay led 33-18 early in the third quarter but had to survive a furious Green County rally.  Henry Clay shot 33.3% from the field including two of 11 from the three point line.  The Lady Blue Devils connected on nine of 16 free throws, pulled down 53 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 16 Green County turnovers.  Green County shot 28% from the field including three of 18 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Dragons connected on 17 of 25 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 24 Henry Clay turnovers.

 

Braxton Price led Henry Clay with 10 points, four rebounds, two blocked shots, and four steals.  5-6 Sr. T’Laya Lyvers added 10 points and 11 rebounds.  Nakeisha Green recorded six points and 17 rebounds.  Anovia Byars chipped in with seven points and six rebounds.

 

Mya Schrembs led Green County with 23 points, three assists, and three steals.  Ivy Hedgespeth added 10 points and six rebounds.  Shelby Howell chipped in with six points and seven rebounds.  Whitney Perian recorded six points, five rebounds, and eight blocked shots.
