Eastern Kentucky University coach Dan McHale started the following lineup: 6-7 Sr. Jarelle Reischel, 6-5 Jr. Javontae Hawkins, 6-9 Fr. Nick Mayo, 6-1 So. Paul Jackson, and 6-2 Jr. Isaac McGlone.  Marshall coach Dan D’Antoni countered with 6-5 Jr. Ryan Taylor, 6-3 Jr. Stevie Browning, 6-7 Sr. James Kelley, 6-3 Fr. CJ Burks, and 6-4 Jr. Austin Loop.

Marshall scored 45 points on 15 three point baskets in a 96-72 victory over Eastern Kentucky University.  Marshall shot 50.7% from the field including 15 of 32 from the three point line.  They connected on 11 of 19 free throws, pulled down 44 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 16 EKU turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 47.6% from the field including eight of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on four of eight free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 14 Marshall turnovers.

James Kelley led Marshall with 27 points, nine rebounds, and three assists.  Austin Loop added 26 points including eight of 10 from beyond the arc.  CJ Burks chipped in with 14 points, four assists, and three steals.  Ryan Taylor recorded 13 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists.  Stevie Browning added seven points, 12 rebounds, seven assists, and three steals.

Jarelle Reischel led Eastern Kentucky with 20 points including two three point baskets, 10 rebounds, and six assists.  Nick Mayo also scored 20 points and six rebounds.
