High Point University coach Scott Cherry started the following lineup: 6-8 Jr. John Brown, 6-3 Jr. Adam Weary, 6-7 Jr. Lorenzo Cugini, 6-2 Jr. Haiishen McIntyre, and 6-3 Sr. Anthony Lindauer.  Eastern Kentucky University coach Jeff Neubauer countered with 6-7 Sr. Timmy Knipp, 6-7 Jr. Ja’Mill Powell, 6-8 Sr. Eric Stutz, 6-2 Sr. Corey Walden, and 6-2 So. Isaac McGlone.

Corey Walden hit a difficult runner in the lane with 12 seconds to give Eastern Kentucky University a 66-65 victory over High Point University.  High Point’s Anthony Lindauer missed a corner jump shot from the corner in the closing seconds to ensure the victory for Eastern Kentucky University.  There were seven ties and five lead changes in this game.  High Point outscored Eastern Kentucky 36-25 but was guilty of 15 turnovers.

Eastern Kentucky shot 46.4% from the field including 13 of 25 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on one of two free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 15 High Point turnovers.  High Point shot 46% from the field including six of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Panthers connected on 13 of 18 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored eight points off 12 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.

Corey Walden led Eastern Kentucky with 19 points including five three point baskets, seven rebounds, five assists, and four steals.  Eric Stutz added 16 points and 10 rebounds.  Isaac McGlone recorded 14 points including four three point baskets and four assists.  Ja’Mill Powell chipped in with eight points.

John Brown led High Point with 23 points and eight rebounds.  Brown was 10 of 13 from the field and three of five from the free throw line.  6-5 Sr. Devante Wallace added 13 points including three three point baskets.  Lorenzo Cugini recorded nine points and 13 rebounds.  Anthony Lindauer chipped in with eight points.  Adam Weary dished out seven assists.
