Model coach Bobby Storie started the following lineup: 5-10 So. Emily Jackson, 5-7 So. Mallory Smith, 6-1 8th Grade Lauren Jackson, 5-5 So. Abby Vicars, and 5-7 Sr. Hayley Hunt. Madison Southern coach Summer Simmons countered with 5-10 Jr. Briana Lanham, 5-10 Sr. Rachel Ramey, 6-0 So. Marley Lawson, 5-4 Sr. Kelley Freeman, and 5-10 Sr. Kristen Hayes.
Madison Southern attempted 38 more shots (79-41) from the field than Model in a 67-36 victory over the Lady Patriots. Madison Southern shot 32.9% from the field including 12 of 35 from the three point line. The Lady Eagles connected on three of four free throws, pulled down 49 rebounds, and scored 30 points off 24 Model turnovers. Model shot 29.3% from the field including one of six from beyond the arc. The Lady Patriots connected on 11 of 18 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored six points off 11 Madison Southern turnovers.
Kristen Hayes led Madison Southern with 19 points including three three point baskets, six rebounds, five assists, four blocked shots, and four steals. Briana Lanham added 15 points and 19 rebounds. Rachel Ramey recorded 13 points including three three point baskets and three assists.
Hayley Hunt led Model with 13 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Mallory Smith and Lauren Jackson each recorded nine points and five rebounds.
