Eastern coach Josh Leslie started the following lineup: 5-8 Jr. Markeia Porter, 5-7 Fr. Alexis Smith, 5-10 So. Natalie Collins, 5-3 So. Daija Stafford, and 5-7 Jr. Shavia Thompson.  Mercy Academy coach Keith Baisch countered with 6-0 So. Elizabeth Anderson, 5-9 Sr. Kathryn Gross, 6-0 Sr. Malerie Martin, 5-2 Jr. Jessica Laemmle, and 5-7 Sr. Hannah Bewley.

Mercy led 22-20 at halftime but Eastern outscored the Jaguars 20-10 in the third quarter on their way to a 56-48 victory.  Eastern shot 36.7% from the field including six of 23 from the three point line.  They connected on 14 of 20 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 23 Mercy turnovers.  Mercy shot 39% from the field including four of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Jaguars connected on 12 of 25 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 17 Eastern turnovers.

Shavia Thompson led Eastern with 15 points, five rebounds, and five steals.  Daija Stafford added 13 points and Natalie Collins recorded 11 points and five rebounds.  Markeia Porter added eight rebounds and four steals.

Malerie Martin led Mercy with 12 points.  Hannah Bewley added 10 points and five rebounds.  Jessica Laemmle recorded six points and six rebounds.
