Simon Kenton coach Trent Steiner started the following lineup: 6-1 Sr. Andrew Sampson, 6-0 Sr. Jared Bowling, 6-3 So. Noah Robinson, 5-9 Sr. Riley Barnes, and 5-8 Sr. Jared Swanson.  Henry Clay coach Daniel Brown countered with 6-6 Jr. Trey Grundy, 6-4 Jr. Jordan Green, 6-5 Sr. Darien Tichenor, 6-0 Jr. Teddy Ware, and 6-1 Jr. Christen Cunningham.

Henry Clay raced out to a 20-8 lead early in the second quarter but had to hit their free throws in the final minute of the game to escape with a 66-58 victory.  Simon Kenton launched a comeback on the strength of 10 three point baskets in the game.  Henry Clay was hampered tonight with the early departure of star point guard Christen Cunningham who left the game early with an ankle injury.

Henry Clay shot 47.6% from the field including zero of five from the three point line.  The Blue Devils connected on 26 of 33 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 11 Simon Kenton turnovers.  Henry Clay held a 32-8 advantage in points in the paint. Simon Kenton shot 39.6% from the field including 10 of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Pioneers connected on 10 of 14 free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 14 Henry Clay turnovers.  Simon Kenton held a 30-0 advantage in three point points.

Trey Grundy led Henry Clay with 21 points and five rebounds.  Jordan Green added 19 points and eight rebounds.  6-2 So. Jeremiah Tisdale chipped in with 10 points and five rebounds.  Darien Tichenor also scored 10 points and 6-5 Sr. Gerrard Newby pulled down six rebounds.

Andrew Sampson led Simon Kenton with 22 points including five three point baskets.  Riley Barnes added 17 points including five three point baskets.  Jared Swanson recorded five points, seven rebounds, five assists, and three steals.
