Sacred Heart Academy coach Donna Moir started the following lineup: 5-7 Sr. Kristin Matula, 5-6 Jr. Raven Merriweather, 5-9 Jr. Dai Jia Ruffin, 5-3 So. Ashley Johnson, and 5-3 So. Gretchen Samsel.  Lynwood (CA) coach Ellis Barfield countered with 5-11 Sr. Alize Lofton, 5-8 Jr. Priscilla Lopez, 6-2 Sr. Amber Blackmon, 5-7 Jr. Jazmine Johnson, and 5-3 Sr. Nijala Johnson.

Sacred Heart defeated Lynwood by a score of 55-52.  Sacred Heart led 39-24 in the third quarter but Lynwood rallied to make it close.  Sacred Heart shot 43.45 from the field including three of 10 from the three point line.  The Valkyries connected on six of 15 free throws, pulled down 47 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 15 Lynwood turnovers.  Lynwood shot 32.3% from the field including five of 10 from beyond the arc.  The Knights connected on seven of 17 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 22 Sacred Heart turnovers.

Raven Merriweather led Sacred Heart with 16 points, 13 rebounds, five assists, six blocked shots, and three steals.  Kristin Matula added 14 points.  Dai Jia Ruffin recorded 11 points, 24 rebounds, and eight assists.

Priscilla Lopez led Lynwood with 17 points including four three point baskets.  Amber Blackmon added 14 points, eight rebounds, and three steals.
